On the same morning that the 76 was shipped back, I went to EcoBinary at Keith's suggestion. Great idea. I now have a new-looking Lenovo L420 ($180). I want some advice on setting it up. It has a 320G HD; 4G ram. I have a 128G SSD. I want to switch from current Windows 7 Pro to Ubuntu, but

One more thought about the slow response. The disk thing I mentioned likely will not show up as CPU usage or even disk usage. If there's some way to show disk access waiting-on-hardware performance of some sort then that would be the only way other than the drive light staying on during the

Hi, I booted 64 bit Fedora 23 Workstation Live off of a 2 GB USB flash drive on an AMD Sempron system (cpuid 020fc2). It took at least 10 minutes to get to the screen that allows selecting between Live and Install. Knoppix boots in one tenth the time or less. Is this normal? Is there something
