I thought creating a gpt partition table would fix it but I was wrong. This
time I clicked on the offending drive in the file manager and a

The proper command would be 'chmod -r 777 {device}'?

Partition table: none
Okay, I spent the last thirty minutes copying all the files from the fat
fomatted drive to a folder on the desktop. Then I formatted the drive to
ext4. Now I can't drag the files back on to the USB drive. I suppose I
could chmod -r 777 the drive but what is the right way to do it?

any advice before I toss it? I suppose I could buy a chain and wear it
around my neck!

lovely, my 32gb ultra is toast. I started gparted to see if I could format
it and the square showing the partitions and usage is gray (as well as the
file system icon).

HI. On my Kali Live USB drive I am trying to create persistence. I did it
once but then something happened (it ran out of space when I tried to
install snort) so I started over. But when I tried tpo create persistence I
got the read-only error. YOu know in my search to get it out of read-only I
I just installed snort ( or at least it is in process) and it is asking me
about the address range of the network. So I ran ifconfig and see that it
is on the 10 network. I know I could put any numbers in there but I want
to understand I'm thinking I will put 10.0.0.2/8. Will that work? Why
my frustration level is maxed out! does anyone know how to install snort on
to debian unstable?
