Years ago, when i worked for frontier global-center, I remember that we
could "rlogin" to a system and "Startx". At least I REMEMBER it this way.
My recollection was that I was running the GUI LOCALLY and metatdata was
being transferred across. VERY fast & efficient screens.

A friends system had an update yesterday. Today, when you boot it up,
the is a blue screen with a couple of folders that WERE on the desktop
before. BUT,it says its unable to load the system tray now.
I did have him boot into recovery mode run DPKG's fix mode, which only
removed 1 obsolete
You COULD have a flaky Power Supply such that high rail load is bringing
it out of spec. Be careful swapping one tho. Some of the older Dells
use a proprietary pin-out on the PS connector. It's the SAME
connectors, but wired differently. LOOK at the colors going to what
pins if you choose

I ran luvcview and it worked, also with the help of lsusb, I was able to
see that it was in fact being seen by the system. Running it on
another machine (32bit) with Skype works flawlessly and since that was
the intent, it would appear that:
