I didn't have to restart the server -
but I did have to disable that plugin/then reenable..
Yet another way to work around that issue :-). It has been fixed in the
latest MusicInfoSCR 2.99.x, available for SlimServer 6.5.

I guess the parser.dll file doesn't do much good in Linux world but
what added functionality does it provide in Windows?
It seems the DLL isn't needed, but the rest of the package is. Just leave
it there :-)

The owner and group of mplayer.sh is already slimserver and the
permissions as you said. These are OK if the they remain the same and
if the slimserver is being run as a daemon by the slimserver userid.
What can happen is that the user installing AlienBBC is not slimserver
or root - the owner /
Rating buttons currently only works in Now Playing menu and in
TrackStat menu. You are probably standing in one of the browse menu
where the rating buttons isn't enabled and then you will get the
favorite commands instead.

1. Clear the current playlist from the web interface
2. Restart slimserver (isn't actually needed, but I did it to make sure
it wasn't caused by anything else)
3. Wait for the screen saver to activate
The result is that after step 3 I get a uninitialized message
I don't have any favourites either - but I wouldn't worry about it if it
works for you!
I will check what's going on again tonight, Favourites was definitely
grabbing the num.hold commands from iTunesUpdate last time I checked -
maybe you have done the key mapping better than I did!

Its also set as screen saver when playing, but that isn't a problem
since the playlist never will be empty when its playing something.

submitted a bug report today describing the problem and offering the
developers my modifications as a solution. You will have to give them
time to implement.

knowing that it should have been working led me to track down the
