Please give me some time to look at that log file.
Sure no problem, let me know if there is anything I can activate to
help the debug process.

I presume tnis is SS 6.5.x and AlienBBC 1.06 was running OK befoe you
installed SoftSqueeze.
Do you have RTSP entries in Server Setting/Filetypes ?
If yes are they all checked ?
If they are all not checked then there is somethig wrong with
slimserver accessing/running mplayer.

I'm not sure if something recently changed in the firmware or in the
actual Sirius streams, but the built-in WMA decoding in
SB2/3/Transporters is now able to stream Sirius streams direct
(disabling built-in wma is no longer required). I have tested this
using the release version of 6.5.1 (build

Hi all.
I'm reposting a question I asked a while ago - I spent part of today
completely updating my Synology DS106 with the latest firmware (build
428) and completely reinstalling SSODS (2.13), Slimserver (6.5.1) and
AlienBBC (1.06.6.5).
Since I changed my router/modem to a single box I've been
A while back some users reported similar symptoms as a result of
slimserver starting up too soon when DNS has not been set up yet - as a
result of some DNS caching, lookups failed when AlienBBC looked up
addresses.
If this is the same problem then AlienBBC should work after deleting
the caches
Greg, where is the WMA setting found in Slimserver? Can't seem to find
it. Thanks.

I do have the RTSP in the file type settings listed there, I tried to
check them but they remained unchecked ater I updated.

Where do I look for the mplayer in the Bin/MW-Win32... directory. ? I
don't seem to see this in the Alien folder...
Also one orther note I had to install AlienBBC twice as the first time
I downloaded direct from the plugin site but wouldn't connect. I then

I just found the zip file for AlienBBC the version I have is
Allienbbc-windows-v106_6.5 Also note when I put the AlienBBC folder in
the plin directory I put it in from the AlienFolder not the Plugin
folder that I first open from the zip file. Not sure if this might be a
problem. Thanks.

AlienBBC is player agnostic.
Why didn't you use the AlienBBC .exe installer rather than the zip file
- it will do all the installation of files and mapler.exe automatically.

Hello all,
I thought up a very simple app that I think is very usefull.
With this, you can send CLI commands to slimserver, right from a
command promt. It's been built with .NET Compact Framework 2. Meaning,
if you want to run it on windows, you need .NET 2.0 installed, but you
can ALSO run it
Oh, one more thing, SendSlimCmd await the response from SS, and outputs
the response in the console window, great for debugging ;-)
Also, SendSlimCmd isn't really smart. you CAN actualy use it to send
non-player commands, but have to use the following format:
SendSlimCmd.exe HostName[:port]
I'm a little closer ... looking at the plugin code, I found a few debug
options to turn on. Following is the (I think) relevant part from the
log:
2007-03-16 17:17:51.4304 Plugins::XMRadio::XROAPI.getStationPlayURL():
using cached url for 75 2007-03-16 17:17:51.4306
This strikes me as brilliant if I can just get it to work.
I would like to run this installed on a USB pen drive, and then plug
that into a computer such as:
http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/store/Mini_ITX_Systems/Damn_Small_Machine.
This is my first direct experience with Linux or DSL, and I am

Don't be too humble erland: your CustomBrowse plugin would also be
helpful here as it allows you to browse with artists grouped under A-Z.
