No, you don't need to open any ports on your router.

I have 2 SB3 Classics running off LMS v 7.91 and using SDT v5.10.26 - I
finally have the formatting on the display as I want it on SB3#1 but for
a reason I can't find, SB3#2 will not display the same data set. Is
there a limitation that prevents more than one SB3 from displaying the
data?

Thanks a lot for the work. I works all okay on my Debian based ARM-HF
server and Squeezebox Touch.
Just two questions, because I'm curious:
1. In custom-convert.conf I see that flc and mp3 are converted from
spotty to that format. But PCM is native from spotty. With FLAC I get a
bitrate of 705kbp

Stop forwarding your LMS to the internet.

Michael,
I guess I spoke too soon - now having the following problem with Spotty
on LMS 7.9.1 and Windows 7: Spotty will play the first 60-90 seconds of
a track, then LMS crashes with the following error message in the log
file:

Several things won't work if a password is set. See the UPNP settings
I tried playing "Anarchy Arias" today. All tracks on the album appear in
the playlist but only the first four tracks play. If I try to play one
of the other tracks the display shows it is playing but with no sound.
The same track will play with sound using the Spotify app on my phone.
Any ideas?

That was it - seems you need a license now in order to use the hifiberry
cards. This is a change point. It would have been very nice if that
were noted somewhere in the interface. Now I have to mail a perfectly
good digi+ card (that I thought was defective) back to the distributor.

Jason do you plan to install LMS as well or will it be used as just a
play
Yep that's the default, the problem with it as I remember from a couple
of weeks ago is the big pop up that wants you to select Hifiberry or
iQuaudio (as it was in my case). I tried it and got in such a tangle
that I returned to the "simple" way. The trouble is, I think I had
already "registered"
Which image have you downloaded?
According to their website the HiFiBerry plugin isn't "Premium", so
maybe you don't "need" a license, I'm not sure.

Is it possible to use the UPNP bridge with an LMS password? Can I do it
by allowing certain IP addresses in the LMS security settings?
I've turned on the password and my UPNP player has disapppeared...

No hifiberry tab. and no license. Do I need a license to use these sound
cards? If so I'll buy one. I didn't think it was required for this
purpose.
