Put file(s) named "coverart.jpg" in the directory where the executable
is and see if you can find some logic.
NB: it's a "crude" implementation, so

I have an idea to help you investigate. I'll do a version that sends the
same file, say coverart.jpg expected to be in the current directory. You
then can try so copy file of different sizes and resolution and name
then coverart.jpg and see if some pattern emerges. Can be a lot of try
and errors
It would be difficult to get the cover art directly from Spotify because
it's https. It's possible but I'll need to establish the ssl connection
... I'm doing that in my chromecast bridge but that a pain that I don't
believe is worth trying because LMS gets it correctly, the problem is
somewhere

OK - Thanks, this make the issue clearer. Outside the UK with slower
streams (96kbps vs 320kbps) - these timing effects are slightly
different.

That is giving me track details on R1 and R2. I'm most interested in R3,
but 'Free thinking' is on at present so no tracks. I'll check again
tomorrow

Does changing the delay from 15 to "no delay" fix the track detail
problem (even though there may be a audio glitch at start).

I've got seconds to delay as 15 seconds, and buffer fullness threshold

Thanks. I'm looking around for any possible setup difference as this
issue could be affected by delays and even the player - what are the
"Seconds to delay live streams " and

Thanks BPA - I think these are the relevant settings. I haven't worked
out

This is from Russound. Not much help I don't think as I don't believe
this is a speed issue. Is it even possible to get the url from the web
directly or does LMS have

I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 as well - the picoreplayer doesn't matter as it
is squeezelite - not the UI. I presume the plugin version is a typo
meant to be 1.5.4.5

I don't deny you see the problem - it's just I can't reproduce it. I'll
have to go into the code and see what are the possibilties.

Yes, that is the behaviour I get as well. LMS 7.9.1 on Ubuntu 16.04.3
server, iplayer 1.4.4.5, PicorePlayer.

Just tested with R2 on a Touch and compared with WebUI.
Track detail was shown "She Got The Garden by Paul Heaton & Jacqui
Abbott" on both Touch and WebUI and also was displayed regardless
whether "Always display station icon" was ticked or unticked,
When "Always display station icon" was ticked

I'll power up a Touch later to check it out but as I said I get track
info with box unticked on WebUI.

change ?

Yes - the BBC only promised Flac for the Proms - it was a bonus that it
was on all day.
The question now is whether BBC will do another trial or

I note Radio 3 FLAC (live) has stopped working now the Proms have
finished. I assume the BBC have simply turned the feed off.

To check this I've had to listen to Chas & Dave - not my cup of tea.
The metadata is bit of a mashup -
Oh, multiple rather QNAP related issues:
- You need to install IO::Socket::SSL. See eg.
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107615-Announce-Spotty-v1-1-0=890362=1#post890362

For the last couple of days now playing track details have been missing
from Radio 2 programmes which normally display them. Has the BBC changed
something again?

This is still a thing, albeit a much slower thing than I would like it
to be. See my post from a couple of days ago with an update.

Thanks for your testing anyway!
I indeed got it working on my ReadyNAS Duo v2 with 256MB RAM... Don't
know how reliable it would work (I'll stick with the Pi3 - it's much
faster!). It pegged the CPU for several seconds after starting playback.
And it obviously is using some swap space. But hey,

Not a problem now that I have retired the ReadyNAS from LMS
You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libio-socket-ssl-perl : Depends: libnet-ssleay-perl (>= 1.35) but it is
not going to be installed
I think this has been discussed in ReadyNAS related discussions before.
I'd suggest you
