user and now Spotty is not in the "Inactive plugins" section of the
Plugin Settings. It's in the "3rd party plugins" section where it
should be. I posted the general direction below. BTW - is there a
reason this will not

Spotty problem also on SB touch. Running fine, but today get this
message on plugin setting page
There has been a problem running the Spotty helper application. Please
make sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime (32-bit!) installed
on your system.
I uninstalled and reinstalled LMS.

Did you first test with a simple source such as aplay ?
The "unable to open slave" error sounds like the device which is being
"snooped" is not in use.

You can't remove items from the available plugins list. But why would
you want to? None of those plugins is installed on your
I see nothing in Top but the results of $ ps ax | grep spotty | grep -v
grep

Am I correct that the Spotty plugin is not compatible with WHS Ver 1.x?
Hoping it was but I tried installing and it failed. Further research
would indicate since the Ver 1 of WHS is based on the Windows Server
2003 platform it's not. If not how do I remove the plugin from my LMS
installation?

What would these processes be called in "top" on a Pi?

If the clients are available but not playing would I still see them?
Yes. The helper is running in a few cases:
- during playback
- as authentication daemon
- when publishing a player to Connect

What does your configuration for dsnoop look like ?
1. what does "arecord -L" say about dsnoop ?
2. What is it configured in .asoundrc or /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf or
wherever your Alsa is configured.
