Ah, yes, you're right. KidsPlay offers only JVC remote buttons and
Radio/Boom hw buttons. The approach taken in KidsPlay for the latter
didn't work for me.
I have got the Boom buttons working, though. There's a ButtonRatings
v0.2 now. I'll have to go find my SB Radio in the basement sometimes.

Though, that's exactly what KidsPlay already offers, isn't it? (I didn't
study or use
Slightly off-topic: I've been playing with a plugin that offers a more
flexible use of remote control buttons to do the rating. I'll be testing
/ using this now for a while and I will create a separate thread once
I'm happy enough with it.
RatingButtons plugin:
afriend, I just noticed that the settings.html page is cached by the
browser. I think for a settings page this is not desired. It seems that
is because it is in the "html" sub directory.
Most other plugins have this template in a "settings" subdirectory,
which seems to prevent browser caching.

Thanks! I've tried it. It seems to work. However, I only played with it
briefly. Some comments:
- Sometimes the remote get stuck somehow. I.e. i cannot navigate the
menu

Absolutely. A .zip or a git branch will do.

OK, after git clone and some hacking I now think the following:
A plugin can add "functions", such as "incrementrating", which can be
mapped to buttons (any button, IR or device, I think) in the IR .map
file
This can then trigger actual functions (Perl), which can do whatever
they want (e.g.
Thanks. I tried the KidsPlay, but didn't get it to work. I'm not sure I
have a "JVC" remote control. I guess not? I have a normal classic
Squeezebox (SB3) and a Boom, and the remotes that came with them.
I tried mapping the "JVC - Add Button" to "ratingslight setrating
Good input, thanks!
I'll have a look at the TrackStat implementation and I'll play with the
ratings plugin code
I vaguely remember "IR maps" and similar things from my time playing
with the code. Lng time ago... :)
Any other input how this is best implemented is most welcome. "Custom IR
Many thanks for the plugin!
Can I map a button on the remote to set a rating? E.g "add.hold =
"?

No idea what the problem is.. something went wrong.. unusual..
Try rebooting..
Try installing ssods again..
Try removing ssods (via the patch) and sc (manually) completely and
install again from scratch.
Usually you would just install SC 7.2 over 7.1 and it would work.

No, 49% only mplayer (in a shell, not via Slimserver or Alien).
The mms stream showes as mp3lame codec or something else with mp3. I
guess I'll have to try a real wma stream. Gotta find one :-)
