Its up to you but, if you're currently running ssods, LMS Repack isn't
using more resources. And, you don't need technical skills to add an url
in the Package Center ;-)
What version of lms are you running at the moment?
What DS do you have?
Is your nas connected to the internet?
So, you don't actally need to switch to LMS Repack. This is an option if
you are not comfortable in using SSODS because of the shell shock
vulnerability, or your system is not compatible with SSODS or aren't
able to install it.
Downside of LMS Repack is, you'll have to wait till I will update
Alright...so for the moment I'll stay with SSODS.
Thanks again, pinkdot.

If you like update the current 7.8.0 package to 7.9.0. It should be
available as an update in de DSM Package Center. If you experience any
Thanks for that, pinkdot.
I'm very tempted to give your rep a try and leave SSODS but I hesitate
at the moment.
Besides my limited technical skills for implementing your repo I'm
asking myself if this will also work on arm5vte CPU Syno's? Or are they
underpowered?
Do you know that by chance?
In Package Center Settings: Did you check the option Trust Level, any
publisher. Click OK. After taht: go to the Community tab and press
refresh at the top. Should be there. If not, it might be something on my
side.

Great !
Waiting for 7.9 version integration to test it on my Synology 214.
Is there any drawback to expect vs SSODS (slower, more cpu consumption,
...) ?

Hello pinkdot, hello all,
I have DS215+ (DSM 5.2-5565, LMS 7.7.3-042) and am not so familiar with

Some questions for once there is the final repository from your side

- Do I have to install the repository manually? or will this show up

- Yes, you have to add the repository manually by adding the url in
the package center (see post 1).
- Yes, and yes. It's a good start to know all changes in 7.9.0 too.
See changelog 7.9.0.
- You might, but I
