It is a waste of time to discuss BBC support of APIs. They don't talk
to individuals only companies and organisations.
The 1 May 2018 date was given in a BBC post somewhere - presumably it is
the end date of some contract BBC have with some 3rd party. Things may
stop on 1 May 2018 or they may

The first post on this thread also gives the date as 1 May 2018.

Not that I am aware of.
Assuming the Beeb do as you suggest then Iplayer Extras will
So the schedule feeds iPlayer Extras uses are supposed to disappear on 1
May 2018. get_iplayer is discussing the same issue. Is there any sign of
a replacement API from the BBC?

You need to think like the BBC - Glastonbury is not a programme - it is
an Event.
The BBC have gone out of their way to make sure people cannot find
program alphabetically.

Whatever the BBC delivers mostly 30 days but some have archives for
decades such as Desert Island Disks. If you can find it on
What time period is covered by the current BBC iplayer extras plugin? I
was trying to find Radiohead at Glastonbury on 6 Music and couldn't.

I doubt it - from past BBC behaviour - change will come suddenly with a
brief announcement and probably resulting in total lack of service for
an indeterminate amount

Don't know. It seems unlikely as the BBC XML feed has no cpaability for
preference it details every program - BBC would have to rewrite API
i really missed the extras a BIG thank you... works perfectly :)
just listening to feedback on radio 4 ... got told that iplayer login is
going compulsory over next 2 3 weeks... is this the end of BBC Radio on
LMS :( ?
For me, using Safari 10.1.1 on MacOS 10.12.5, it's still the case that
if you right-click on a shortened url in this forum and choose the only
relevant option, "Copy Link", and then paste it somewhere, you get just
the shortened version. Do it in Chrome or Opera, and you're offered
"Copy Link

If you move your cursor over the link you should see it displayed in
full in a box at the bottom of your screen.
(You can also choose to post links in 'plain text' in the editor if I
remember)

I've entered the repository
'http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...repo-short.xml' in the
Additional Repositories field in LMS Settings and click Apply but then I
get:
'Bad repository http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...repo-short.xml -
Redirection limit exceeded'
Am I doing it wrong?

Well I've taken the plunge to get iPlayer Extras 2.0.0, I'm using that
and iPlayer 1.5.4.4. They are both working fine with LMS 7.8.0 on my WHS
v1 Atom N270 based server.
I have noticed that Dash 320kbps AAC streams (I don't use anything else)
start faster than 1.4.10. In particular they start

I don't know - we are the mercy of BBC whims. In early 2015, they said
the replacement Nitro API would be available to public in
When you say BBC indicate this API "will die 1 May 2018", will there
likely be a usable replacement or will this functionality just disappear

Nothing to do with me - the BBC created the multiple entries for some
programs so if looking
Thanks as always - working well in New York.
I note with interest that (for example) "A Dancer in the Dark" appears
on both the A and D pages, and titles beginning with "The" are similarly
listed twice. I think this is handy!
Works well for me and doesn't seem too slow loading pages.

If you have a favorite program that is a brand rather than a series -
then custom entries can be added to the plugin's default.opml file.
Find the program page on BBC web site and then select the option "See
all episode from ". This will open a page with a list of episodes
available on
