so it seems that slimserver sees the script exiting as failure
so I removed the when starting the spotifydhf binary and changed the
script to copy the conf file at startup and remove the command logging.

Was thinking the same thing. the spotify process getting root

But for a quick test i skipped to the last 10 secs of 15 songs and it
played the next song perfect so looking good. I will run a 50 or so song

it finally broke for me after working for so long .
