Thanks for the replies. I thought that a fault at the BBC end seemed
most likely, but it's good to have it confirmed.
Probably irrelevant now, but I'm in the UK listening to AAC streams.

I get this same effect on Radio 3 - I amn outside the UK so it is a 48k
stream. It also happens on the PC through browser. So it is not a
BBCiPlayer plugin problem.
Since it happens on both PC and SBS and inside and outside UK - it
looks like a central BBC problem - not a network or distribution

I'm listening to Radio 5 Live now (Danny Baker). - Not my usual
listening.
It's exhibiting occasional bursts of bubbling noise and it's also doing
it simultaneously on my PC.

Having the same problems (stuttering of audio for ~5-10secs) on 6Music
this morning - on the Flash/AAC stream, haven't tested the others.
~10Mbit connection (London, UK) here and there don't seem to be any
problems with downstream bandwidth on my side of things.
Sorry - I'm already running late

plugin.bbciplayer.rtmp logging would be useful to see.
For breakup during the stream - with flash aa
I had the same thing last weekend (and before that) on Radio 5 Live -
haven't listened today yet.
Also had very occasional breaks of up to 5 seconds on Radios 2 and 4
when listening early in the morning.
I put both down to problems at the BBC end as they tend to go away -
but maybe not?

Was it OK on the PC ?
It is useful to say whether you are in the UK or not as there is a
difference in speeds of service and different server network.

I noticed last weekend that the live stream of BBC Radio 5 live was
breaking up badly from time to time (giving a kind of echoing stutter
effect.) I didn't have time to investigate but today the problem is
still there, as well as on Radio 5 Sports Extra and Radio 6. Radios 1-4
and 7 live streams a
