The point of my previous post was that data from the same URL plays OK
as a simple MP3 file in the songs directory but not as a radio stream.
Doesn't this point to mishandling within the radio streams processing
(plugins?) ? Tne radio streams go via Mplayer don't they? Using v

No they don't. MP3 stream go direct from source to the player -
Squeezecenter will do nothing unless proxied has been selected for
the player. Mplayer is only used for those format which are not
supported by SB such as RealAudio and AACplus (
I had another play with this: That sample podcast bpa posted, when
Tuned In, does not work. We get the (Softsqueeze) message

The tune-in method has nothing to do with AlienBBC - you will get the
same error if AlienBBC is not installed.
I cannot play BBC Podcasts on my SB3 or softsqueeze.
I get all BBC stuff except podcasts.
Also, Wiki Radio and Virgin dont work although they are listed in
AlienBBC.
You get the program listing and everything, just the program times
out.
Help anyone, I would love to be able to get BBC Podcasts
