I had another play with this: That sample podcast bpa posted, when "Tuned In", does not work. We get the (Softsqueeze) message
<<javax.sound.sampled.UnsupportedAudioFileException: not an MP3 file bla bla bla>>, as I posted earlier (this thread). The player checks stream, connects, buffers (too fast) and displays the podcast title OK. Timer doesn't run. no timeout, it just sits there with javaw.exe holding the connection to dl1.telhc.bbc.co.uk:http open. The same happens for other randomly selected BBC podcasts. However, if these same podcasts are downloaded manually to the SC7 music folder (and a rescan done), they'll all play fine in SoftSqueeze. They look like (using MP3Tag) any other MPEG 1 Layer III file. All nicely tagged with an image. This would suggest that the data being streamed to SS via the Alien plugin isn't right. I hope this helps narrow it down a bit. Could this be linked with the other problem I highlighted with the need to Pause then Play to kick off a great many Radio streams (on SS 3.6 again)? The symptoms are the same, apparent good connect etc. then nothing.
