Thanks for the update. Not sure why the download didn't work for you.
I'm not going to persue the issues with the geekout driver further.

I've been unable to download it -- I get a "we can't find the page
you're looking for" error.
I've sent you a PM with a link to download a test build of squeezelite
that uses the 'audacity portaudio library sources'

Sorry for getting back so late, but other things have been on all our
minds, I'm sure.
Yes, I tested Audacity, and it can play a FLAC file just fine. Hope
that can help start the debugging process.

The audio device list is generated by the portaudio library for windows
and all windows 10 systems I have tried work without issue.
As a test could you try 'Audacity' (https://www.audacityteam.org/) and
see if you can play an audio file with that?
Audacity uses the portaudio library as well,
So, I take it that there are no evident solutions to the problem?

Getting the exact same result with SqueezeLite 1.3, 1.8-667, and
1.9.2-1665.
Incidentally, my default audio device is the Realtek High Definition
Audio that is part of my ASUS motherboard, driving a pair of stereo
speakers. The device tests out in both Windows' "Manage Sound Devices"

Ok. So squeezelite doesn't crash, it just doesn't find any devices that
can output 2 or more channels.
Try -l with this 'older build'
Squeezelite still won't work with mono only
No. I just get a few seconds pause, then a command prompt.

Do you get any devices listed if you run with -l (lower case letter L)?
squeezelite-win -l

Did you edit the debug output?
There should be a lot of other messages before what was posted.

This is what I get with the latest build:
Code:
C:\SqueezeLite>squeezelite-win -d all=debug
[17:47:23.868] stream_init:370 init stream
[17:47:23.868] stream_init:371 streambuf size: 2097152
[17:47:23.948] output_init_pa:573 init output
[17:47:23.948]
Please try the 'latest build for windows'
If you still experience crashing then from a DOS command prompt, launch
squeezelite with debug enabled and post any output.
Code:
For a long time, I'd been using squeezelite-win to stream on my desktop
from my LMS machine. At the time, I was using a USB dac, which I have
since removed. I went to try to run squeezewin-lite today, and it kept
closing/crashing about five seconds after opening from CMD. I thought
