[SlimDevices: Plugins] LastFM SlimServer 6.2.1 (WinXP) problem.
Hi all, I have slimserver 6.2.1 installed on a windowsXP PC. I've been experimenting with it for a little while, using SoftSqueeze, winamp etc, and I'm very impressed. I hope to buy a SB3 in the near future. LastFM caught my eye the other day, so I thought I would investigate - today I registered, and having been listening to some radio stations. Its an interesting idea. Anyway, I installed the lastfm slimserver plugin (the latest Beta version, and afterwards, the latest live version), and I've not been able to get it to work. When I try and get a stream working, I always get the message back error connecting to lastfm!. I can listen to stations with no problem using the LastFM player, and I've tried using that to kick-start slimserver, but to no avail. I also installed the slimscrobbler plugin as well in case that was needed - no luck. I read a number of posts on this forum about lastfm, but none seem to address this issue. Is this a LastFM problem? RE: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LastFM SlimServer 6.2.1 (WinXP) problem.
Hi Chris, I just got it working on the 2nd attempt so LastFM seem to be streaming OK at the moment. Can you enable the d_remotestream and d_plugins debugging options, try connecting to LastFM and then send me the output from the log? Can you connect to other internet radio stations OK? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: LastFM SlimServer 6.2.1 (WinXP) problem.
OK, this is entirely my fault. I realised that none of my radio streams work...which got me thinking, until I read the AlienBBC error message more closely - RTSP error : check file types. Hmmm, check file types you say? So, I check the file types, and guess what? I'd deselected pretty much all the transcoding/decoding file types for some testing (except for native FLAC), and forgot about it. All works now, lesson learned... Thanks for your attention! [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Danish Radio for AlienBBC
Hi all, Why not use the RadioPlaylist plugin instead of AlienBBC? It works great for me and is a lot easier to setup. You just create a playlist with the radio streams you want (including wma based like Sveriges Radio) and then select this playlist in the plugin menu on the SqueezeBox. I have not tried it though with RealAudio streams. http://www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer/#RadioPlaylist_Plugin Regards, Jimmy -- jkarlsson jkarlsson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3326 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19609 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: XM Radio Online Plugin (version 0.1)
I was able to download and extract the files. I put them in Slimserver/server/Plugins/XMRadio. I restarted the server (Version 6.2.1). I'm able to see XMRadio settings under the Internet Radio headings in the server's web interface. (I set the email address and password.) But, I can't figure out how to actually play a stream. Any help would be appreciated. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - No sound on BBC!!!
Thanks guys! I uninstalled all of Mcafee and then I couldn't get my SB3 to talk to slim server at all! Reinstalled it and slimserver works but obviously alienBBC doesn't. My subscription runs out at the end of march so what would people suggest I replace Mcaffe with??? Just in case this is the problem? I am running through a netgear 834G, which has a true firewall built in. Might this be part of the problem? [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: XM Radio Online Plugin (version 0.1)
That's definitely a successful login, probably from the autologin that happens when you first go to the XM page. Before we dig into this any further, what skin are you using? The web interface is only known to work with the Default skin. With Fishbone, I too just get a blank page; haven't even tried any others yet. If you're using Default skin, I'm completely flummoxed about why it would be giving you a blank page. I'd be happy to work with you to figure it out -- send debug code or whatever, if you're interested. If you're using other than Default, please change the skin and let me know what happens. I do plan to support the other skins in an upcoming update. pmf -- philf philf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3159 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19791 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

DannyJ Wrote: I am running through a netgear 834G, which has a true firewall built in. Might this be part of the problem? It shouldn't be as you can get mplayer to work standalone. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: SlimCD Remaster
After considering some of the posts above concerning SlimCD, external drives, SoftModded Xboxes, etc. I have a few thoughts: 1) In reference to the Xbox-linux folks steering you to the hardware mod, I really think that just them showcasing Cromwell BIOS and avoid much of the legal wrangling surrounding the grey nature of chipping your Xbox. Certainly, the softmod could work well if you only want a part time SlimServer. This is really a discussion best left to their forum...not really here. 2) For the ModChip fans...yes, you can only get ALL the advantages of a large drive, Xbox Live! and alternative BIOS's with a ModChip. 3) For the fellow wondering about sources of used Xboxes...the vintage of hardware is actually important as pre-November 2003 boxes are the easiest to modify with the Hardware and Software preparations and they will be the cheapest because they are older. 4) As regards the software mod, I believe it would be possible to remaster Michael Herger's excellent SlimCD product to lay over top X-DSL Linux and run as a LiveCD at runlevel 2. However, you would have to either transfer music via FTP or a hard drive transplant with all your music, or pre-configure the remastered LiveCD with SaMBa and SSH ready to go AND reset passwords for security reasons. Then you'd have a solution that is also power failure resistant since the OS is read-only. I might take that on as a later project for giggles and education. 5) Last...there was someone wondering about a USB drive for music. Again, some remastering would require creating a mount point in the SlimCD LiveCD to allow a seamless use of the disc without SSH'ing into the unit, since it should really be runlevel 2. After some thought into this, the 11 MBps speed limit of a USB drive shouldn't be a big issue as long as the number of streams is limited on your network. All up, I am _very_ happy with my runlevel 2 XlimXerver unit. It's quiet, just sits in the corner happily playing away. The next addition will be a small FM transmitter kit that will take a constant random stream and let me tune in anywhere within about 100 meter (330 feet). Cheers to all. Phil, I should have mentioned the complete setup: skin: Default Slimserver: 6.2.1 Server platform: Windows XP Home with all updates Squeezeboxen: Softsqueeze; SB2 I have a feeling there's nothing strange in my set up, so yeah, I'm confused as well. Are there other debug flags you would like me to set? I wasn't sure which other flags had to do with the page display that might indicate some strangeness. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: AlienBBC - No sound on BBC!!!
Bear in mind that unistalling a firewall may turn on the windows firewall [SP2 onwards] You may need to turn this off! Also note that I don't advocate running a machine without a firewall, its just it this is a useful way to prove the firewall is the problem. Assuming it works with the firewall removed, we then just need to figure out how to bypass the firewall for slimserver. [I've managed to make it work with mcafee so it should work!] Alternatively, go to the firewall settings and ensure all the following have Allow Full Access: slim.exe socketwrapper.exe mplayer.exe wmadec.exe -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19683 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Help with IRBlaster and NAD amplifier
The remote I use with the nad C372 amplifier is a nad sr5. With this remote and thanks to the nad-sr5.ir file I can easily control both my nad amplifier and the squeezebox3. On the other side there's the irblaster: on the lirc website there's only one conf file for a nad product and it's for a cd player. I took that file and modified only the codes section putting there the values that I read from the ir file :) I put it here as an attachment. Searching the net I was unable to find a conf file to send ir code to the nad amplifier. Thank you very much for all the support. The squeezebox is a great products and I'm amazed by the quality of the service at slimdevices! +---+ |Filename: NAD.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=674| +---+ -- capi762000 capi762000's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3309 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
