[SlimDevices: Plugins] My Apps
What on earth am I doing wrong here? I've had the squeezebox for a few years now and never had this issue before. I had assumed that the problem was vortexbox but I've since installed a new version and the problem remains. If I use the Squeezebox radio and connect to mysqueezebox rather than my Vortexbox I can access myapps no problem, however, when I connect to my home library (the vortexbox server) myapps is now empty. I've added the username and password, confirmed it but its just not playing ball and been like this for a few weeks now. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] My Apps
The likeliest cause is some DNS issue within LMS, can sometimes be startup order, LMS is running before there is any network and never ever recovers. Some DNS issue with the vortexbox itself . Wrong password . You get no apps because LMS can't access mysqueezebox.com . What is server log saying ? If you open a shell on your VB via ssh and ping like this ? ping -c5 www.mysqueezebox.com (if this works DNS is resolving on the vortexbox itself) and ping -c5 176.34.103.98 (if you want to ping directly without dns) -- Mnyb Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Just installed LMS and Softsqueeze on Linux but BBC iPlayer not working
Hi, I'm a new user. I've just installed LMS 7.7.2 and Softsqueeze 3.9b2 on my Linux Mint laptop. I'm in the UK. Everything is working except the BBC iPlayer plugin, which is one of the things I was most looking forward to. Looking at other threads, I see that others are having some fairly complex problems with BBC iPlayer too. Before I spend lots of time trying to figure out if their problems are the same as mine, I have a simple question... Given the set-up described above, should I expect BBC iPlayer to work? I'm concerned that maybe there's an obvious problem I'm missing, e.g. a fundamental incompatibility between the BBC streams and LMS on Linux, or something like that. Can anyone offer any advice about obvious stuff I should check? -- philipharvey44 philipharvey44's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94385 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Thanks for the response. I already had ia32-libs installed, as it turned out. As expected, I was able to play the MP3 stream you supplied but not the AAC one. I just noticed that, when I try to play the AAC stream, SoftSqueeze prints an error: java.io.IOException: Could not find Stream Sync at org.kc7bfi.jflac.FLACDecoder.readStreamSync(FLACDecoder.java:557) at org.kc7bfi.jflac.FLACDecoder.readMetadata(FLACDecoder.java:212) at org.kc7bfi.jflac.FLACDecoder.decode(FLACDecoder.java:303) at org.kc7bfi.jflac.sound.spi.Flac2PcmAudioInputStream$1.run(Flac2PcmAudioInputStream.java:136) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) Any advice on how to debug this would be very gratefully received. -- philipharvey44 philipharvey44's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=55251 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94385 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Using genpuid on recent 32 and/ or 64 bit Ubuntu releases
Reviving/ rehashing an old post of mine so that the information is in a single place: To run genpuid on Ubuntu 9.10 or greater you need to install an old C library: libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_i386.deb. A copy is available for download '*here*' (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=0f8624a0d2d20da7d45e235cb6e824f2c8cca860f84066ebc81041a3fc51d567). *Don't try to take a shortcut by installing the .deb - Karmic uses a later version of the C++ library and you will end up with conflicts on your system.* Open the .deb using archive manager and extract it to a subfolder. Inside the subfolder you'll find a file called data.tar.gz Extract data.tar.gz to a subfolder inside this subfolder you'll find a folder called usr/lib inside this subfolder you'll find two files: libstdc++.so.5 ( - symbolic link to libstdc++.so.5.0.7 ) libstdc++.so.5.0.7 ( - the file you're actually after ) delete the symbolic link and rename libstdc++.so.5.0.7 to libstdc++.so.5 Finally, move libstdc++.so.5 to /usr/lib That's it, GenPUID will now run without issue. For 64 bit systems all you need do in addition to the instructions above is the following: Code: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs -- audiomuze *'Linux finally gets a great audio tagger' (http://www.ubuntugeek.com/linux-finally-gets-a-great-audio-tagger.html): 'puddletag' (http://puddletag.sourceforge.net/)* audiomuze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33613 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94389 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The name servers is the same as DNS servers does it looks like something your set yourself or what your ISP would provide ? 62.24.139.7 opal telecom or talk talk . 198.168.2.13 is the VB's ip Subnetmask 255.255.255.0 By that your router is probably 198.168.2.1 with the same subnetmask all players should be 198.168.2.x unless you have something really unorthodox going, I'm guessing by the most common way to set this up . I have just started to use DynamicMix as a replacement to SugarCube and so far it's been working really well, I really like the mixes that it picks, but I find that it repeats the same Artist too often. I have noticed this occasionally too. Sometimes I find it will switch alternate tracks between two artist's albums. It's really down to the mix settings and MusicIP. Try tweaking the settings, eg. increase the Variety to make selection a bit more random, or try using one of the MusicIP Recipes. Thanks for the quick response. Do you have any information on using recipes? I have tried searching through the forums and wiki but can't find any good information about how to create and use them.
