I don't have first hand experience but I've had reports from iPeng users with similar issues, too. I believe the problem was that certain port ranges were blocked. If it's port 9000 changing the port might help. Generally, I'd recommend to try to use a VPN, that can often get you around things

Actually that's good news because it means the player itself works (SqueezePlayer, I assume?) So it's not port 3483 which you could not change. If it's port 9000 (that's how it sounds to me): you can change that in the server and your router. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad

Erland I have tried an Alpha version of Ubuntu 14.04 with LMS (latest 7.8 nightly) on a Live USB and was able to playback music over wireless to my SB Radio and access and use web interface, leading me to conclude (hopefully) that it will work without issue when 14.04 comes out stable in april.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the setting to always stream via helper, but I will do some more testing over the next few weeks before declaring failure. I was really just looking for confirmation that this should work and that I was not wasting my time.
