Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2016-09-03 Thread tiggert

Thanks Philippe for working on this and pointing me to this updated
thread, and your suggestion about the api key.

I checked and the key I was using seemed to be correct, but I went ahead
and created another one following the steps at the start of this thread
(apart from enabling it, as it was already enabled - I only had the
option to disable it.)

It still is not working for me.

It seems that whatever video I try to stream I get the message:
"Problem: Can't connect to server for: "name of video"

This is what I see in my logs:

I tried running apt-get install libio-socket-ssl-perl
libnet-ssleay-perl
But it didn't install anything new as I already had it.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong and how I can get it working?

I'm running LMS 7.8.1 with perl 5.014002 on an oldish Raspberry Pi
running Squeezplug.

Thanks.

Check your LMS log file (go to the LMS webpage, go to Settings, then
Information tab, then check the Logitech Media Server Log File. Look
for a line with "getWunderground" in it. In that line, there should be
a URL request (e.g.,
http://api.wunderground.com/api/x/conditions/forecast10day/astronomy/almanac/hourly/lang:EN/q/pws:.json)
Copy the URL (from http:// through .json) and paste into the address
field of a regular web browser, and see what you get as a result.
Likely, you are using a bad weather station, didn't correctly put in the
API key (you did get a key from wunderground.com?), or didn't specify
the correct format of the weather station (you can re-check your
settings in the "advanced/superdatetime screensaver" in LMS).
If it's not obvious, let me know what you see.
You might need to increase the level of logging for SuperDateTime - that
can be done in "advanced/logging" and change the value for
plugin.superdatetime to "info" or "debug" and select "apply".

Is there anything one can do lower that frequency? Apart from skipping

You're right, this is not a firewall problem. There is an answer to the
"RECORD" request which is not compliant to AirPlay specifications, and
it raises an error. I probably can find a workaround, but looking at the

Unfortunately I can't help out here. I tried several attempts on my Arm
based nas, but thats not the enviroment you can test these plugins on.

So, if you have the repo.xml added to the plugin page: please remove it
again.

Martin.

Yes, it's OT, sorry. I found an old thread where it was mentioned too.

First - Bluetooth does nto belong in this thread ansd has been discussed
as sources and destination in man many other threads.
second - simple as it sounds, I have tried to do this in the past
thinking it shoudl eb straight fdorward and was driven nearly mad by
Linux Bluez implementation and the weird interfaces on Windows - I don't
own OSX so can't comment on that. Use a bluetooth input adapter and plug
into PC Line-in socket and then use Waveinput or else use Airplay.

Best to start Bluetooth discussions in different thread. Search for
discussions around Waveinput for a starting point.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2016-09-03 Thread drmatt

If someone were to add a simple to use Bluetooth audio streaming device
as an input plugin to LMS, allowing you to stream from your phone
straight to one or more squeezeboxes in your house, the ecosystem would
have a shot in the arm of oxygen and fill the remaining glaring omission
in home audio functionality. Either that or even better a
chromecast-like WiFi streaming capability.

Most plugins concentrate on creating end-points for output of LMS
content, but I'd love to see that additional input to LMS.

That did the trick. Se attached log for dev-2.
Now tha player actually appears in LMS as DOSS1530_01FC, not the name
Kitchen which is also seen in the config file of the bridge.
However no sound output. A step forward anyway :-)

Most owners of Squeezeboxes will have moved on by now, most to the likes
of Chromecast and simple Bluetooth streaming. Although we all know the
rewards for persistence with Squeezebox are great, very few people are
that interested or have the patience. Those that don't will have bought
something else yonks ago, those that do will already have found this
forum.

Sonos's days are numbered. We all have smartphones now and it is a
doddle to set up streaming of any content or app to a speaker or hi-fi
for relative pennies.
