Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite freezing raspberry pi

2017-07-01 Thread s2kiwi

Thanks Roland,

I was mainly just trying to rule out any obvious known bugs before I
started again on fault finding.

So, I've started from scratch with a fresh Pi B+, no DACs etc and a new
version of PiCorePlayer 3.2 - no other modifications and the same
happens again. Pi goes sluggish, playback skips (but CPU/Memory loads
aren't high at all). It get's much worse with sync'd players of any
sort. Slightly better with low res files and much worse with high res.

So, I fired up my older windows server and it seems much better - and
works with sync'ing.

I can only think that means it's the Vortexbox server I'm running...
it's a pretty stock new Vortexbox install with no real mods, running on
a Intel Centrino vpro V2 with 2GB ram.

Wipe that server, install a fresh AMD64 Debian Server core install and
load up the latest LMS on top...

Same behaviour!

I've tried different versions of Squeezelite/hardware etc but nothing
other than switching to the windows server makes any difference.

Is it possible the Linux laptop is somehow incompatible with LMS? Any
ideas what I'm missing here?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Band's Campout - My Collection no longer working

2017-07-01 Thread craigm

It looks like Bandcamp changed how they present collections. Instead of
one large page they now have separate pages for your purchased music and
your wishlist. Which is awesome for using the website, but breaks Band's
Campout.

Anyone have an idea of how to fix this?

Thanks!

So
If I use my iPhone as a wifi hotspot with VPN and then iPeng on an iPad
connected to it iPeng will think it's on wifi and not apply bitrate
limiting?

Orthogonal set of questions :)
You don't need to be on your local network to be on WiFi, don't you?

On iOS there are system queries to find whether a connection will be
made through cellular or WiFi and that's what iPeng uses.
So if you are e.g. on a public WiFi network remotely connecting to your
home network, iPeng will use the "WiFi" setting fr bitrate limiting.

However, if you are on a private WiFi network without a route to your
home network, cellular might be used (at least, if the WiFi network is
routed correctly).

The one case where this logic fails, as I wrote, is if you connect
through connection sharing or a cellular MyFi router, in these cases
iPeng thinks it's on WiFi while your connection is still through
cellular, albeit on a different device.

You might be able to find the "customclockhelper.prefs" file. On my
system (debian) it is located at:
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin
If you find it, you might be able to simply use it to replace the
current one on your new system. Otherwise, you should be able to use it
to help you recreate or fix your clock style - it's a text file with the
information for all your installed CC styles.
Hope that helps!

I guess the problem is that the custom clock style got left behind on my

Is there any way I can get that clock style from the file system and

Possibly but it depends on what version of plugin you are running. To be
certain use the menu.opml file that is installed in the BBCiPlayer
plugin directory on your system.

Why title this post with "long chunk fetch time" - they are unrelated.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with custom clock NP screensaver

2017-07-01 Thread MeSue

I've just reinstalled LMS on a new computer and restored all my track
stats. I've always used a custom clock screensaver on my Radios, but I
can't remember how I originally got it showing ratings. I used to be
able to see asterisk stars instead of the text "TRACKSTAT" like you see
in my picture. Songs without a rating or from internet radio would be
blank in that space. Please refresh my memory... What am I missing?

Yes, the track playing infor does change, from track title to general
info about guests, then the next track title.

There is a time lagg between the new track starting and the title being

The lines that end with "..." are not realtime nad have not changed
during 1.4 or 1.5 plugins - they are what the BBC supply in their
entireity. AFAIK neither LMS nor the plugin truncate text with "..."

should be more text since the line ends abruptly with "she...". Maybe I

Scrolling is not a function of plugins - the plugin just delivers
strings for the various fields when requested by LMS for the metadata
update and LMS handles the display (which may include scrollling).

The replacement iPlayer.pm file is ONLY for 1.5.4.4 - not sure what
will happen if used with 1.5.3 - I'd expect a plugin or LMS crash at

Does it match up to "Recent Tracks" - BBC often do not supply realtime
track between tracks and so plugin fills in with Program description.
Realtime info source is polled every 30 secs so possibly up to 1 min
delay between realtime track info being being made available and being

Status 200 is success - I've made the plugin output message when there

The areas where I think there could be "problems" would be after a live
stream is paused/jumped back etc - I expect in these cases the
"realtime" info may not return if somehow the "delay" due to pause etc.
has not been removed. Easiest way out of this is to restart the stream.

My concern with Windows is that some Windows systems seem to need a
large "delay" in order to play stream smoothly - I'd be curious to know
whether realtime info is ever displayed on these system.

And all seems fine here on my Raspberry Pi setup. Well done bpa. As ever
I am humbled by you clever people who keep the LMS/slimdevices/squeeze
system so alive.

Thank you.

Start by telling us which model pi and what exactly you are running on
it?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite freezing raspberry pi

2017-07-01 Thread s2kiwi

Hi all,

I'm tearing my hair out, so I'm hoping someone might have some advice to
help me.

I've been trying for days to get a stable Squeezelite running on one of
my Pi's, but every time I initiate Squeezelite it slows the Pi down and
starts skipping badly (SSH also slows to an unresponsive crawl, despite
CPU/Memory resources looking fine).

I've tried both PiCorePlayer and also Raspbian Lite - both show the same
behavior.

Changing network setup hasn't fixed it, different USB DAC made no
difference, different power supply made no change.

Any ideas? Any suggestions on stuff I should try?

Does anybody have any knowledge of the presence of a plugin for
Pocketcasts (www.pocketcasts.com)?
When searching the forums, I only find this thread:

Hi Ronluna

Can you PM me here with your amazon developer e-mail please. I can then
check if you're on the invite list and resend accordingly.

People can go ahead and set up Hab-Tunes accounts but unless I enable
the skill on your amazon developer account and send you an invite to the
teamwork portal, there's not much you can do!
