Orthogonal set of questions :) You don't need to be on your local network to be on WiFi, don't you? On iOS there are system queries to find whether a connection will be made through cellular or WiFi and that's what iPeng uses. So if you are e.g. on a public WiFi network remotely connecting to your home network, iPeng will use the "WiFi" setting fr bitrate limiting. However, if you are on a private WiFi network without a route to your home network, cellular might be used (at least, if the WiFi network is routed correctly). The one case where this logic fails, as I wrote, is if you connect through connection sharing or a cellular MyFi router, in these cases iPeng thinks it's on WiFi while your connection is still through cellular, albeit on a different device. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 9, the Universal App for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
