Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2017-08-01 Thread pippin

No. iPeng checks whether you have an account there and since the
operation of MySB is usually independent of LMS it has nothing to do
with that.
Lots of people (still around 50% of iPeng users) only use MySB, not LMS
so I won’t introduce some additional configuration step here.

It downloads the whole video, but as it's LMS, you have only audio. If
you concern is geolocking, then you'd still need a PoP (Point of

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-01 Thread zamamaman

Hi to all.
First thanks to Michael for all his developments and also amazing
posts.
I have a question about the radios that I follow within Spotify. In the
app, I access them from library => Stations
Am I missing something in Spotty about that or the option is not
available (yet)?
Thanks for the help.

By the way, I am also, since July 17 of course, an ex user of LMS within
my QNAP TS 459 Pro II but finally renounced due to the Perl module issue
and was forced to move to LMS pCP (rpi3) (on which I mounted thé qnap
music library) and I am super happy with the new setup.

Kind regards to you all and best of luck with the tech side and I mainly
wish you amazing music listening which is our main purpose I believe.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Mixcloud plugin?

2017-08-01 Thread noexit

Finally got around to installing MixCloud and resolving a little issue
with encoding MP4's I had. I noticed however that the MixCloud Track
will not play for very long (a few minutes or so) before it stops. I
checked the log file and find that upon playing a MixCloud track I get
hundreds of these repeating errors instantly appearing in the log file:

[17-08-01 07:21:58.5732] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (147)
Error: Select task failed calling
Slim::Web::HTTP::sendStreamingResponse: illegal file descriptor or

line 150.
; fh=Slim::Web::HTTP::ClientConn=GLOB(0x9692004)
[17-08-01 07:21:58.5742] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (147)
Error: Select task failed calling
Slim::Web::HTTP::sendStreamingResponse: illegal file descriptor or
filehandle (either no attached file descriptor or illegal value): at
/Slim/Networking/IO/Select.pm
line 150.
; fh=Slim::Web::HTTP::ClientConn=GLOB(0x9692004)

I attempted version 7.9.1 upgrading from version 7.7.5 and lost the
ability to stream from Mixcloud (which was what I was streaming that
caused those messages in the log to begin with.) I had previously
noticed that Mixcloud wouldn't stream for very long before it would stop
playing. I then noticed all those repeating errors in the log and
figured it must be related. Anyway, the errors I was getting on 7.9.1
was, first the inability to stream MP4, which I fixed again thanks to
this post (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post861033). After
resolving that I was receiving the an error "[17-07-31 23:28:12.4218]
Slim::Formats::RemoteStream:pen (95) Error: Couldn't resolve IP address
for: stream50.mixcloud.com

So, I downgraded from 7.9.1 back to 7.7.5 and got Mixcloud streaming
back up and running... I'll let it run a while this morning and see how
long it lasts until it stops.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: ShairTunes2 plugin - Airtunes on your LMS

2017-08-01 Thread pippin

Yea, that's true. I only see what's in the protocol and what actions the
server takes and all you need is in there but it might not be easily
accessible from a plugin.

That said ... it might be worthwhile to add some hooks to the sync code
to enable this, would add a lot more flexibility when trying to become
compatible with other players through all kinds of external source sync.
Maybe one day we could even find a way to stream HDMI audio to
Squeezebox devices and keep lip-sync, this would offer quite a lot of
potential for the platform.

Great, thank you so much. I could only give it a quick try yesterday as
I have to set up the environment I had at my holiday home (holidays are
over :-( ) first.
What definitely works now (after setting the option in the plugin) is
that the other players keep on playing when I switch off the Sony AP
speaker manually.
What doesn't seem to have changed is that all players stop playing when
a sound source different from LMS (as for example a Video or a Website
with background sound) takes over the sound on the iPad. I'll have to
activate the debugging log to see what is happening in this case. I'll
also try to test the behaviour during "WIFI roaming" this evening.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Logfile flooded after starting any MixCloud track

2017-08-01 Thread bpa

I don't know Mixcoud but I do know the LMS internals relating to
transcoding which you are using to deal with MP4 and the 7.9.1 fix is a
true bug fix. The bug fix may have exposed other problems which the
plugin developer should address.

I think you would be best helped by posting to the mixcloud thread (
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?88286-Mixcloud-plugin/page2
) as another user had the same error you had and sharing knowledge
solves problems.
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?88286-Mixcloud-plugin=874949=1#post874949

I don't think moving back 7.7.5 is the right solution. The "cannot
resolve IP address" is not a LMS or plugin problem but either network
not available when LMS was started, a network issues with your setup or
a coincidental network issue.
