Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite -G GPIO misbehaving
That is how it works, squeezelite/lms, Squeezelite does not get power button status, LMS tells it to play a stream or not, and to shutdown alsa when not playing. The -G option was Never intended/nor can it interface with shairport-sync piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite -G GPIO misbehaving
Ok nailed it. At the end of the text box, which I could not see on my iPad, was the -C 5 flag, which was suppose to release the output after 5 seconds to allow shairport-sync to use ALSA. In the end, it really is a bug since the -C command should not trigger the amp power off, only the disconnection to ALSA. I was vaguely aware that the feature offered the ability to restrict access to parts of the library for some users. It hadn't occurred to me that this is exactly what I want to do: temporarily restrict MY OWN access to parts of the library. I see now that it is possible to do something very much like what I have in mind, just using library views. It's not just tricky; it's convoluted. But it works. Using my earlier examples, I could do an advanced search for all Country tracks, create a library view from that, switch to that view, then do an advanced search in that view for all Instrumental tracks, the save that search as a Country Instrumental library view. Then I could do the same for Jazz --> Vocal. And create a Rock view from the full library. At that point, I've got three library views that, together, contain all the tracks I want to use in building my Random Mix. If there were a way to merge library views, this would be perfect. But there is no way to do that, is there? Instead, what I've done is create Random Mix from each of those library views, then save each mix as a playlist, then finally load those three playlists together and select shuffle mode. It's not exactly a direct path to where I want to go, but it gets me there, eventually. For now, I can use this method, but I till want to learn to use SQL. I can see that I shouldn't expect to be proficient with it anytime soon, though. This method also provides a feature I haven't asked about yet: weighted random playlists. By varying the size of the playlists made from different library views, I can control the percentage of the final shuffled playlist that will come from each of the library views. Unfortunately, Random Mix seems not to create playlists longer than 100 tracks. I do not know yet if the same limitation applies to SQL Playlist, but I have found that it will only add ten tracks at a time. These are minor frustrations, but I'm happy to have found something that works. Thanks for leading me to that solution! For me, with layout set to auto in Material Skin, going to material/mobile did not force mobile on the desktop. In any case, now that you have this as a setting in Material Skin, it makes no sense for SLX to also have the choice, so I have removed it from SLX. Now in SLX, you just select Material Skin and it goes to /material, then layout is according to Material Skin Settings. Makes better sense this way. And, by the way, I like it. I like having the setting in Material Skin and I like "auto", and I like having the ability to set/force mobile if I want to. So its all good. Your skin just keeps getting better and better. Settings are stored in browser's local storage. Looks like you have either configured your browser to delete storage when it quits, or have an extension that does this. I have my browser configured this way - so I use another browser (epiphany) just for web-apps like this. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have been having similar issues but with iPeng. It sometimes doesn't update the "now playing" album art, artist and track name. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
The pace at which this skin improves is amazing. If only the self-styled "agile" teams I've been working with, with their military-style standups, were half as fast as this... ;) Just a couple of minor questions, both about the desktop version: 1 Whenever I open the skin, it defaults to a particular player. Can I set another player as the default? Or can I have the skin remember the last player used? 2 I've set "Split artist (and album) lists into A-Z" to "on", but, unlike other settings, e.g. "Use a grid for albums", it doesn't seem to stick. When I close and restart my browser, it reverts to "off". How do I make it persist? This affects only the desktop version; on Android tablets the skin remembers both the last player used and all the settings. I'm using Firefox Quantum (60.3.0esr) on Debian 9 (Stretch) on the desktop; on the tablets it's Firefox for Android 63.0.2. Thanks! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Material Skin v0.2.0 is out now and it controls its own skin layout (automatic/mobile/desktop). So I have uploaded SLX version 2.0.1 to my OneDrive link that is aligned with that. So you will no longer select layout in SLX. I'll get that uploaded to the MS store sometime later today. No. The application layout setting has been there since there were 2 layouts, nothing has changed with this. The only change (for 0.2.0) is that if layout is set to "auto" and you are on a desktop browser, it will auto switch between desktop and mobile depending on the width. -material/mobile- and -material/desktop- should still work as before - at least they do for me. cpd73's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66686 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
OK, just got v0.2.0. I notice that you now have a setting for Application Layout. So I guess, I should not be going to .../material/mobile or .../material/desktop anymore as that does not determine the layout any longer? In Squeezelite-X, I currently have the option where the user can select Material (Mobile) or Material (Desktop). Then it goes to the appropriate URL according to the selection. Now that won't work anymore with v0.2.0, so I should have a single option in SLX for material skin and let the layout be controlled there, right? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Hoping for help with SQL Playlist
I dont have the SQL schema to hand - but how are the genres stored for each track ? If I was writing such a query where I needed to check multiple items I would join the table to itself on its primary key So something like select item from track1 join track2 on track1.key = track2.key and track2.genre in 'Holiday' where track1.genre in 'Jazz' or something along those lines bradcook's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1033 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109818 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
