I see.

I have a problem. For some reason, when I try to use the sonos profile
setting to apply the sonos specific values nothing is applied. Seems
the common settings are unchanged. Looks as if the fetch is not
working.

Is there a sample profile for sonos which I could use to manually edit
the config?

Cheers

Fyi, I just had notice of an MS update, which I installed. I don't know
if this was intended to include the fix, but the problem is still there
and "cmd:add" still has "sort:album".

I don't know... as I said to @castalla, mp4 and ogg has *never* worked
for me on my Sonos. I have explicitly a "-ogg" in the codecs list
(inheritance removal) and an extra mimetype of "audio/aac" to force aac
ADTS format and *not* mp4 encapsulated.

That would most like be caused by lack of hardware mute when the DAC
makes a sample rate change. Thats up to the driver to handle with the
hardware. Force everything to be resampled to one rate will avoid the
issue…
Or at least prove that is really the issue.

The album was tagged as Peppers not Pepper’s ie without a ‘ so I don’t
think it’s LMS side it was down to Allmusic. Not worth investigating

[SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlayer with DAC - popping noise prompted by track change / silence

2021-06-11 Thread rgthorpe2001

Hardware is Raspberry Pi 3 Model A Plus Rev 1.0 with an Innomaker HiFi
DAC Hat (PCM 5122), playing though the hat's headphone jack. Software
is a fresh install of 7.0.0, selecting Allo Bass DAC per Innomaker's
instructions (the issue isn't new to 7.0.0, however, had it with the
prior pCP version as well).

The player produces a slight popping sound before and after certain
silences. The most common case is when advancing to a new track if the
prior track ends in silence - there will be a small pop with two seconds
or so left in the track, then another pop right with the start of the
new track. There is no noticeable popping, however, when there isn't a
silence at the end of the track (e.g., classical movement broken among
multiple tracks). Occasionally a deep silence in the middle of a track
will also provoke the pops.

I have tried adjusting the buffer settings, without it affecting the
pops. Are there any other settings on either the Squeezelite tab or the
audio card tab in pCP that others have had success with in fixing this
kind of issue?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] PiCorePlapyer - LMS showing duplicate Albums for some Artists .....

2021-06-11 Thread Cut-Throat

This seemed to start happening just in the last couple days. I noticed
with Qobuz on a Certain Artist
that I have marked as a Favorite on Qobuz, when I look at that artist
(Greg Brown) on LMS and look at Albums by that Artist.
Most all of his Albums are Duplicated. If I hit play on the Albums some
of them will populate the Queue, but will not play at all.
The other album will often play.

When I view that Artist's Albums on the Qobuz Web Player App, the Album
list looks fine... No Duplicates (BTW - This artist does not have any
Hi-Res Stuff, where the albums do get duplicated, but are marked as
'Hi-Res')

Artist Bio. If artist or AlbumArtist is multi-tagged the lookup fails

This used to work in that MAI would pull all Artist bio’s and these
displayed in Material with no issue.
It may be since you added Related Artists which by definition can only
work against one artist?

Hi Philippe

Thanks for the 1.62.0 update. This has resolved streaming of internet

the previous UPnP plugin version) on my Sonos speakers.

I am running Ubuntu 20.04 and LMS is running under docker.

I think this is the relevant bit from the UPnP logs:

Alas, it seems that I would need to know their secret algorithm for
generating the "hdauth" key. This appears to be based on combining a
sign in key (which I can get) and a number representing current time
(which I can also get) using an algorithm (which I have no clue). This
will be buried in the code of their mobile app, and they obviously don't
want anyone to access them outside of their own apps :(

Now it is for a different reason.
It has (probably) downloaded and installed (check the dates of the files
in InstalledPlugins/Plugins/CommunityFirmware )
but the install.xml still has version 0.2 in and LMS can see that there
is a 0.3 available so it thinks an update is still needed.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)

2021-06-11 Thread FatPete

I've done a quick search of this thread, as I'm sure somebody will have
already asked this before, but couldn't find an answer.

If I want to sync a couple of AirPlay devices, is there any preference
to whether I use the native iOS AirPlay synchronisation (i.e. grouping
speakers using the AirPlay controls on my iPhone) or should I use the
LMS synchronisation method?

I'd assume that if I have a mixture of AirPlay & Squeezebox components
then I'd need to use LMS player sync, but for a 100% AirPlay household
is it better to let AirPlay handle it instead of LMS?

Thanks!

Well I've been going round the houses with this.

But in case it helps anyone else to generate their OAuth client ID
correctly (so they can use their person YouTube account) I found I had
to select 'Desktop App' as the application type when I created it.

I tried a few others before settling on 'Desktop App' and none of them
worked for me (the Client ID and Client Secret did not generate a code
in the plugin settings page).

@Michael - I have corrected the tagging now and it is fixed but is there
any way to avoid this sort of lookup error. The error in question was a
missing ' from the lookup. Is AllMusic really that fussy?

Could you please double check what exact kind of quote you were using
there? Because "'` should be ignored.

You can always enable INFO logging for plugin.musicartistinfo to get a

Please, if you haven't already, don't rename your files. I think I have
the required fix for 2.4.6 - and it'd be good to know if it really fixes
the issue for you. (I'll make a release at the weekend) You should not
have to rename files to get a UI to work, especially one that should be
using hte metadata! As stated the "sort:" param is not required, so
Material should not be adding it where it was.

A track that is in a a genre group will only match others in the group.
A track not in a genre group will only match others not in a genre
group. So, there's a kind of "all others" genre group.

Can do, but not sure I see the use. DSTM, AFAIK, picks seed tracks at
random each time, its not based upon the 1st/last tracks - so should be
different tracks each time.

afriend wrote:
> the DSTM mixer is not really working for me right now.

How so? If you run the musly-server locally you should see what seed
tracks are being used, along with the filtering, etc. I only ever use
the DSTM side, the 'Create Mix' was just added as an experiment - I've
never really used it in anger.

afriend wrote:

What hardware are you running this on? I run the musly-server on a Pi4
with LMS, with ~25k tracks, and never seen such issues.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Musly DSTM Mixer (mix by similarity)

2021-06-11 Thread afriend

I've been using Similarity a bit more. I like it. Far better than random
mixes.

Can I just ask about genre filtering: if I create only *one* genre
filter group for Classical music genres does this mean that if I start a
mix with *no* classical music seed tracks does it mean that this mix
will cover *all* genres except classical music? Just asking because
while I'd like a classical music mix to feature only classical music I
don't want classical music tracks to appear in any other mix.

Do you think you could make the number of tracks DSTM adds (default=5) a
config option? The DSTM similarity mix uses the similarity score of the
last 5 seed tracks (the ones it just added) and therefore it would a
kind of 'evolving' mix changing the character of the playlist as it
'evolves'? Compared to always using the similarity score of the
original/first seed tracks. If it's evolving then larger batches would
mean that the 'character' of the playlist would change more slowly
(which can be nice). Or maybe another option to lock the similarity
scores to the original seed tracks to keep the character of the
playlist?

I'm very glad you added the "Create Similarity Mix" context menu item
and that it adds 50 tracks at once because the DSTM mixer is not really
working for me right now.

Plugins::MusicSimilarity::Plugin::__ANON__ (176) Failed to fetch URL:
Timed out waiting for data
Plugins::MusicSimilarity::Plugin::_mixFailed (202) Return empty list

The first batch is usually added without problems but when the second
batch is supposed to be added (last but one song started) it seems DSTM
or Similarity times out before musly server has returned the results and
DSTM adds the 'song mix'. The muslyserver python process is still busy
when DSTM adds the song mix.
At first I thought it was related to my setup: I often use a touchscreen
piCorePlayer (without Squeezelite running) to control other clients -
like a Boom in this case.

Do you know how to fix this? Or this someting that can only be addressed
in the DSTM plugin? (didn't find any timeout option in DSTM though)

Thank you.

Indeed. I guess its AllMusic side that is the issue. There it will

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2021-06-11 Thread d6jg

Last night I decided to play one of my versions of Sgt. Pepper. This was
one that I had ripped from the excellent deAgostini 180g Vinyl reissue
from a few years ago - it as clean as a whistle and sounds lovely.

During play I decided to re-read the album review via MAI and Material
on my iPhone - I must have read it before but - it wasn't there! Close
examination of my tagging showed that my other three versions of the
Beatles album were titled very slightly differently.

This one (non working from MAI Album perspective) was tagged - Sgt.
Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

The others (that worked) are tagged - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
Band

@Michael - I have corrected the tagging now and it is fixed but is there
any way to avoid this sort of lookup error. The error in question was a
missing ' from the lookup. Is AllMusic really that fussy?

Hmm, I guess your right.

It's just that i was happy with way thing were with a DS412+ running
LMS, but then came this famous Perl update which broke my
configuration.
After a lot of searching i ended up upgrading my NAS to a DS918+ which
runs docker i.c.w. LMS and it suits me well for the stuff i'm doing
(audio serving a huge music collection and off course Radio Paradise).

For me, i'd like to stay with this configuration as long as possible.
Being around in "computer land" for quite some time, i see this urge to
renew and jam more and more features in firmwares, being it a NAS,
router or OS's. Often at the cost of stability, power consumption and
understandability.

Anyways, thanks for your insight. I very much appreciate your work and
efforts.

I don't understand how you end up with that command line

Code:

/srv/squeezebox/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/UPnPBridge/Bin/squeeze2upnp-x86-64-static
 -Z -I -f /srv/squeezebox/logs/upnpbridge.log -x
/srv/squeezebox/prefs/upnpbridge.xml -i /srv/squeezebox/prefs/upnpbridge.xml

The "i-" option cannot be there unless you always click on "generate".
Don't do that, just let it run and send me a log again. Don't forget to
click on "start the bridge" or install 1.62.0 where this happens
automatically

In terms of the plugin, it doesn't keep your password, it gets a token
when you sign in which is valid for a couple of years. So, changing
your password won't affect your signed in status of the plugin. A lot
organisations provide a "sign out of all devices" facility that
invalidates all tokens. I'm not sure if the BBC provides that? I
haven't seen one.

Sorry, but you really need to be clearer. I -think- what you are stating
is that this produces the error:

- Open Material's search field
- Enter artist name
- Click on an the artist's name below the "1 Artist" header
- List of albums for this artist is now shown - replacing search
  results
- Use the (+) button that appears when hovering over an album in this
  new list

but this works:

- Open Material's search field
- Enter artist name
- Use the (+) button that appears when hovering over an album in the
search results - i.e. an album shown below the "X Albums" header

If so, I can see the "sort:" filed is added in the first case, but not
the second. I'll try and remove this.
