I'll make a new and shorter one and will try to focus on what exactly happens. But maybe there's a clue about the stopping in this one. Apologies if I have missed the answer to this somewhere, but I'm having an issue where the sound quality of BBC programs drops right down, such that it sounds like its coming from an old biscuit tin and I have to turn the volume right up to hear anything. If I switch to a non-BBC station it is fine and it stays fine when switching back to the BBC. It only used to happen infrequently and the channel hopping fix means that it is something I can live with. However, recently it is starting to happen more often and so I thought I might see if there is a more robust fix. Im currently using BBC Sounds 2.19.0, but I have had this issue for quite some time. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Ifi Zen Dac V2 no DSD with Squeezelite?
Hello Folks; First post so please be gentle :) After being given a friends late fathers vintage amp i decided i needed headphone capabilities and my piCoreplayer/IQAudio DAC+/Pi3 wasn't up to it. After looking around i decided on an Ifi Zen Dac V2. Using pciCorePlayer i set it up fine but then when i came to playing one of my Native DSD files it just had white noise/hissing over the top. After about a weeks experimenting it would just either not play the DSD files at all or have the white noise/hissing. Then i found a post on here from ralphy about showing exactly what the sample format should be (shut down squeezlite -> go to diagnostics -> sound and then [INFO] Playback Hardware devices). These are the details Card 0, ID `Audio', name `iFi (by AMR) USB Audio' Device 0, ID `USB Audio', name `USB Audio', 1 subdevices (1 available) 2 channels, sampling rate 44100..96000 Hz Sample formats: S16_LE, S24_3LE Buffer size range from 90 to 262144 Period size range from 45 to 131072 Subdevice 0, name `subdevice #0' As the sample formats shown above do not corrolate with the DSD settings in squeezelite (format = dop (default if not specified), u8, u16le, u16be, u32le or u32be.) am i correct in assuming that i cannot get native DSD out of the ifi Zen Dac via squeezelite/piCoreplayer? I'm running the mini player, I open squeezelite-x from the task bar on my primary display, put it into mini-player mode (the square with the arrow in button), and move it to the top corner of my second display, out of the way. My mistake was then looking at the task bar icon on the primary display which didn't show the progress. I've just realised that since the player is now on the second display the progress icon displays on that display, not the primary one. So, all working fine, thanks for making me look a bit harder. location 1: lms 8.2 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.2 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Hopefully this is in the right place as I haven't been able to completely be sure where the issue lies. I'm having a problem in the last couple of days playing tracks over 10 minutes from Spotify via Chromecast Audio and Airplay The Following instances 1) track Shine on you crazy Diamond parts 1-7 duration 17:32 from spotify over airplay bridge. Track ends prematurely around 12 minutes and crossfades with the next rack in the queue. I have this track locally but at a lower bit rate and it played right through. 2) track Schuberts Octet 1st movement https://open.spotify.com/track/7abavMfKPzktTyEHDnoJkd. duration 14:52 Track ended around 11 minutes. I don't have this track locally but another version of the same piece of music at a low bit rate and this played fine. I checked the airplay log, the chromecast log and the LMS log. I get this warning repeatedly during the airplay session. [21-07-23 16:50:46.1592] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1341) Warning: [16:50:45.8050] Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\RaopBridge\HTML\EN\plugins\RaopBridge\settings\basic.html line xxx. So I'm thinking that the problem is in the chromecast bridge with the track being shorter than expected. Is this potentially an intermittent buffering issue? I seem to recall another report of problems with long songs but I can't seem to find it now. Any help gratefully received.
