Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alternatives to spotify / spotty?
In case Julf did not already find this, you go on squeezebox.com to get the Tidal app. You need a squeezebox.com account, and Tidal is under "App Gallery". Re Spotify alternatives, and at the risk of angering the open-source gods, I note that if you have an Apple device you can stream Apple Music to your Squeezebox/LMS devices using Phillipe's Shairtunes plug-in. It is the same monthly price as Spotify, and it is lossless quality, similar to Tidal. Obviously, Apple Music does not "integrate" into LMS as Julf asked, but the Apple Music stream played through Shairtunes does display the album art and track info in LMS, and you can use the volume and pause, forward and back controls in LMS. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alternatives to spotify / spotty?
I've been meaning to move from Spotify for some time now (the cash flow issue*), and the latest rumpus has nudged me to start the process. I have decided to give Qobuz a whirl (I already have an account for buying downloads). I've transferred a few playlists and the albums in my Spotify 'library' to Qobuz. Quite pleased so far. I don't really have any interest in resolutions above red book standard, but all is good, obviously there are albums on Spotify that aren't on Qobuz, but since my primary music listening is done from my local library that doesn't matter too much. I can make the final decision whether or not to jump fully to Qobuz sometime in February - I have a 1 month free trial of Qobuz which more or less overlaps with my current month of Spotify Premium. * To be honest, I am not too worried about how much of my Spotify subscription has gone to artists because if I like something on Spotify, I buy it as a download, on vinyl or (occasionally on CD). And I contribute quite a lot to artists that way. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Hi Philippe. it looks to me that my Naim NDX drops of the network after I allow the update of LMS plugins and restart. This has happened the last two times I've updated plugins. The UPnP Bridge was updated the second time (13.01pm in the log) but I don't think it featured in the plugin updates the first time (not shown in log). Weirdly it does not drop off the network if I restart LMS from the control panel. I have attached a log showing the restart of LMS after the plugins updated (13.01pm) and the Naim failing to reattach and then a restart of the UPnP/DNLA Bridge where the Naim reattaches itself (13.05). +---+ |Filename: UPnPBridgeLogsRestart.txt| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37065| +---+ Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Lounge: Naim NDX with Touch as controller, Naim NAP 180, NAC 82, NAPSC, HiCap, Shahinian Arc speakers Kitchen/outside: Chromecast audio, Azatom iBigBoy 2 (500W) And... SB+, radios & tons of Chromecasts... all run from LMS and controlled via Material Skin on any nearby device and a Touch. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
I have two players (SqueezeAMP and ESP Muse Luxe) that report its battery voltage to LMS. The default LMS skin shows the battery voltage on the Information tab, but LMS Material does not. For example, default LMS UI shows following Player Information for my ESP Muse player: ESP Muse Player Model: SqueezeESP32 Player Type: squeezeesp32 Firmware: v1.0-1012-16 Player IP Address: 192.168.0.106 Player MAC Address: 9c:9c:1f:f2:c0:04 Wireless Signal Strength: 76% Voltage: 4.03 In LMS Material the last line is missing. Would it be possible to also show the Voltage in Material? | LMS 8.3.0 | Squeezebox Boom | RPi0W + pCP 8.1.0 + HiFiBerry DAC Zero | SqueezeAMP | ESP Muse Luxe | CJS's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68700 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Wanted to quit Spotify for long time. Apart of fact they pay artist peanuts (which should be enough good reason to not use them) I remember theirs treatment of squeezebox community after dropping official support and calling my ecosystem " your squeezebox smartspeaker" and advising me to replace it with Spotify Connect devices.. I guess recent podcast drama is final straw for me.. I have actually already cancelled my premium although got another 3 weeks left. Its funny how cancellation process reminds of amazon prime (another one on my list to avoid.. Hopefully one day) Anyway fingers crossed Tidal will meet my needs and I can easily transfer some of playlists from Spotify 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115850 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
