Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2022-02-22 Thread tbessie

Hi Philippe et. al...

I've been using this plugin for a long time now, and I'm happy it's
there.

I can't find what the latest version of the plugin is; mine reports
v0.144.1, but how do I find out what the very latest available version
is?

Also, when I play back from a YouTube playlist, often a video plays back
(as audio), but stops after about 10 or 20 seconds of playback and goes
to the next item in the playlist.

Do you know why that might be happening?

So I was wandering what is causing this. I had the theory that alsamixer
could check that the signal was clipping and this is why it intervened.
But the same occurs if I start from a low baseline. The sliders have a
governing curve, sometimes more abrupt, sometimes more soft than what my
inputs ask them to do.

Generally speaking, range settings in ALSA can be all over the place,

IIRC the alsamixer and pCP web interface are mapping an ALSA range to a

Chiming in again.
iPeng with a dongle DAC will go to 24/96 but I’m not sure whether the
onboard DAC goes beyond 24/48.
The Dragonfly has an LED that changes colour based on the stream bit
depth. If I listen via it - it will mostly be green (16/44.1 local FLAC)
but will change to purple (24/96 Qobuz FLAC).
I also have experience of some other dongle DACs eg HiFiMe DIY Sabre
which are much cheaper. These don’t have as much volume which is an
issue with an iOS device but they can be boosted when used with a Pi
using Alsamixer. No LED though.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Pipe Squeezelite to Icecast

2022-02-22 Thread Matt Drown

You can specify the LMS server from squeezelite command line if it isn't
showing up, obviously update the ip address to your server ip.

Code:

squeezelite -s 192.168.0.100 -o Radio

When you run ICES it will generate the PID file, as long as you have it
specified in the ICES config file. Then your metadata script will grab
it.

I'm running ICES2.0.3, so yes, ICES2 is the correct one.

If running "PAREC" by itself doesn't do anything, then ICES won't be
able to send any sound. PAREC by default will pull from the
pulse-audio and send PCM data out STDOUT onto your terminal window if
you just run it without "piping" it to ICES.

Make sure that squeezelite is working, and you are sending audio there
(there will be no sound, but LMS will show you playing).

The problem is while using LMS on Windows.

Further testing shows the problem is restricted to the Now Playing

The data is from MusicBrainz

occassionally the source is badly/incorrectly encoded.

However more info is always helpful such as

representation problem of the HTML front end and what is happening at

Thank you, @mzedd!
You restored all functionality from prior the API change!

I noticed however, that there is a problem with the synopsis (the '...
mehr' entry) in the same area you described the 11-entry bug above:
When I go to Entdecken->Highlights aus den Rubriken->Krimis und
Thriller' none of the listed (11) entries has the right-click / 3-dot
'mehr' entry, which normally lists the synopsis of the episode

-> Maybe related to the bug you mentioned?

But these are details - main functionality is back - thanks for that!!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Picoreplayer equaliser settings

2022-02-22 Thread sheeple

I wanted to check whether the weird level jumps are only a matter of the
web interface output, but could not open alsamixer equalizer from ssh

If I type: alsamixer -D equal
I get: cannot open mixer: Operation not permitted

The last three commands are giving me some problems;
Squeezelite -o Radio did not show up in LMS (i used the precompiled
pulsaudio version from sourceforge).
No errors when executing the command. When I added -n pulse -z
(daemonize) LMS finds it but i doesn't start playing when i add a
playlist

Metadata script starts and fills with a different macaddress/player, but
first needed to do a touch on the pidfile. because it doesn't exist
(yet)

I could not find ices for the pi. so I installed ices2, but it can not
read the input file (broken pipe).

So i think I am close, but need a little help to configure ices2 and or
squeezelite.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings Henk
