Same frustration with Composer of the Week on Radio 3. Would love to

The closest I can come is to set the left side to elapsed time, and the
right side to progress-bar/time remaining. This is ok for tracks, but
ugly for live streams.

I was confusing two issues, because for a while the WBAA stream was
really broken.
But when is was not broken, in the sense that mplayer could stream it,
Alien could not.
I've resolved this by installing the beta. I have no idea what's going
on.

at the same place when restarted. IIRC, this didn't work in the past.

It happened again - half way. This time, title was good but time did
not move.
I restarted the server and all was good again.
It may be a nowplaying problem that, since I use MusicInfoScr, shows up
that way.

For me, the default sync is good enough.
I run syncoptions because unsync at power off is a necessity in my
home. There's no way my wife will figure out what's wrong and unsync
the kitchen player if I forget to unsync when I power it down.

If you open a repo.xml link with your browser, you can look at the xml

I can't seem to find a way to get the upper line right on my SB3 to

2992 breaks one line playtime. It tries to display a progress bar,
filling the whole screen.
This is on SB3, with Huge Font left set to title and huge font right
set to playtime.

Now that MusicInfoSCR lets me set up the now playing display, I've
reverted to specifying now playing as my screensaver. Why is the
screensaver mode of MusicInfoSCR useful? Should it be removed to
simplify things?

(I tried automating this sort of stuff on windows and gave up - on
Linux it is possible to write robust scripts that I can rely on.)

AFAIK, the way songscanner works is.
1. start a track playing.
2. navigate to the songscanner entry and press right to open it.
3. use up/down to move forward/back, play to jump to the current
position.

I hope the 7.1 improvements really to what I need.
I regularly listen to ripped radio programs - one I listen to a lot,
for example, starts with 6 minutes of news, and has 6 more minutes at
the 1 hour point. Song Scanner makes skipping this a breeze.

First thing I always do if something won't play is to retreive the URL
from Squeezecenter and past it into the appropriate media player
(winamp, windows media player, realplayer) and see if it works.

In debian they go in /var/lib/squeezecenter/Plugins
you must make sure they are readable by the squeezecenter uid - for
example by chmod -R a+rX . in Plugins

When I try to sync a live alien stream (bbc world service) between an
SB3 and a Duet, the streams are quite a bit out of sync.
Is this known? Should I be reporting it as a bug, given that Alien is

For streams that cause trouble (usually non-mp3) I dump to wave and
then lame the wave back to mp3. You need to tell lame what kind of
stream it is because there is no wave header.

I'm wondering how hard it would be to make Song Scroller easier to use.
1. By reprogramming a key (I'd use search) to go to the plugin.
2. By programming the up/down keys in now playing mode to go into the

plays for a bit and then stops. Is it playing the buffered stream and
then dying? Should this work?

I tried using MusicInfoSCR.pm to format a large display with title and

Just to tell you why I need this. AlienBBC doesn't know how to pause -
it restarts clips at the beginning. So you have to take note of the
position and then skip forward. I like to do this from my easy chair -
and its only possible in large font mode.
