Yes, I also understood it's included in LMS. But it seems I've forgotten
to uninstall/deactivate the plugin. This thread points me to have a look

Same here - and I've also the Reliable Plugin 0.18.2 active with LMS
8.2.1. Could this combination also kead to other issues and it's
recommend to deactivate the Reliable Plugin?

Hi Andrew,

I just had an idea for a feature request using TVH. Quiet a lot of TV
channels using different audio tracks for additional features like AD -
a mixture or a combination of the film sound and a descriptive
commentary is sent on this audio description (AD) sound channel.

With the possibility of choose this AD audio channel, a movie played via
LMS would be like an audio book.

Do you think it is possible to add a feature to dicide between different
audio tracks?

that there was a PR regarding add+ to playlists and since the App isn't

I received an answer from Klassik Radio, which unfortunately is neither
informative nor pleasant...

Basic statement: Kassik Radio develops software for interfaces that are
important, such as Alexa. If there is time, they will be happy to deal
with LMS plugins in the future. To provide an account for development
within the community will be an option, and they will come back to this
offer if they are interested.

Summary from my point of view: Nothing will happen from the Klassik
Radio perspective :-(

Just tried Squeezer 2.2.5-beta-1. No "loading..." issue anymore - the
squeezer guys seem to cache somehow, too.  And also the MAI picture

Yes, very rare (the first I've ever seen and I even didn't know that I
own one - It's not marked) - I just set CDplayer to 'Do not lookup any

Could be! In my case I just talk about a pure Win10 system and VLC - No
LMS/ CDplayer is involved - was just to test the behavior of the
DVD-Drive/ the laser unit

Just because you've written about the Internet connection -  and indeed
especially the OASIS CD has many hits in the database (> 10). But at
this point you are also right. Disabling the lookup does not change
anything.

Ahh - OK thanks for explanation! Make sense. I just tested wit V1.10
before I read you answer and you are right. Exactly the same behavior.
Btw, radio station buffer is set to  3sec. (guess that are my 2 to 3
sec.) and radio station timeout is set... to 15 sec. make sense, right?

I just noticed - the differences between this CD and others seems to be
CD TEXT. But finally I guess the easiest is to skip this CD ;)
Nevertheless, I'm wondering how VLC and the Win 10 PC handles it (also
using MusicBrainz and the same Internet connection). Especially
Pause/Play doesn't have any delay. LMS/ CDplayer seems to be to seek the
position again and load/cache data.

But I've an odd behavior with one CD which I guess also occurred with
V1.10 but I never took notice about. With this CD (OASIS/ Definitely
Maybe - [Helter Shelter from 1994]) it always needs about 15 sec. to
play something (Start playing/ Start from pause/ Jump to next track,
etc.) The time counter starts until 15 sec. /silent and jumps back to 0
sec. to start playing. It's something like 15 sec. caching... before
streaming

As far as I understood the naming is special for Material-skin use. The
main plugin icon should be a .png but named as x_svg.png. If that syntax
is used for the icon name, then Material will use x.svg instead (so this
x.svg has to be provided alongside the xxx_svg.png). It looks inside the
.svg file and change the colors to match to the current setup.

Currently, if enabled under Extras a 'puzzel piece' appears per
default... under Home Screen items a nice default icon is chosen (2nd
picture). But this is really only a minor thing.

Oops - sorry! Hope this time I got it right... No not at all. I just see

Sounds great! I've never tried to build up a playlist with with CD
tracks but now I tested with the patched plugin on RasPi/Linux and yes
it works (no error logs)! I've built up an opml with "only tracks" from
one CD and also mixed up with local and online (Spotify) libs. 

By the way, I tried to play different songs on different squeeze players
from one CD in different rooms. The laser unit then has to work a lot
and the DVD drive becomes noisy - but it works!

Yes, with with freedb it's really a pity! gnudb works in other
applications fine for me and good to know that you plan to update. But
also MusicBrainz in the CDplayer Plugin does its job!

Silly question - is it possible to change the order of favorites via/in
Material? Like per Drag & Drop in Default Skin? I'm asking because the

Could it be that the reason behind the 'loading...' issue is a slow
internet connection? I just disconnected from the internet and it seems
Squeezer does not use 'LMS cached' artist arts - I got 'black' arts,
'loading...' displayed much longer than usual, and I got tons of log

Failed to call https://www.last.fm/music/B%20J%20FROST/+images: 404 Not Found



I've a 200Mbit/200Mbit connection - why I maybe do not recognize the
remote loading of arts in normal cases.

Yes, I understood what you both are talking about... and yes, that's
what I wanted to say. Neither me with my old Android 8 nor my son with
the current Android 11 really see this loading issue you described. In
fact, if you scroll quickly for a split second, you can see 'loading...'
and then the icon appears - but this is hardly noticeable during normal
use. I think this is also due to the network speed and how the LMS
server is connected to the network. I will try it out in the basement
with weak WiFi (which isn't usually the use case of my son ;) ).

A.. sorry! Didn't read carefully enough. As I installed the Material
apk from F-Droid I was also surprised to find Squeezer. You are right -
that's absolutely great for all who want avoid google services or are
using alternatives like LineageOS.

Squeezer is still available in its resent version 2.2.4 in Googles Play
Store - isn't it? The Squeezer guys have also a Beta-Program there and
they answer to issues quick at:
https://github.com/kaaholst/android-squeezer/issues

The 'Loading...' issue appears only on my old Android 8 (bit annoying,
but the Squeezer guys said to fix it -
https://github.com/kaaholst/android-squeezer/issues/685) and only while
start-up. Since Squeezer is using the ComeID protocol it's easy to use
and gives the same user interaction feeling as Jive/Jivelite menus on SB
devices. Especially my son loves that and uses Squeezer a lot - on a
up-to-date Android without Loading-issues. By the way sometimes the
Squeezer guys also read and answer in this forum.

Yesterday everything worked! But today... just the default icon from
html/images/ and everything I do... absolutely no effect. The way around
- to change something in the web UI hast immediately effect to the
favorites.ompl 

All "old" favotites show still the correct new icon I've added but every
new item I add - no chance! :mad:

Does anyone know where it could be cached?

Easy explanation from my side
- all my physical CDPlayers died or removed by other reasons
- I've still have some CD I've never ripped
- my son brings often CDs from school - corresponding to his textbooks -
I do not want to copy on my NAS
- I do own a small simple external USB-DVD Drive which I connected to my
RasPi4 LMS-Server and voilà I've a CDPlayer in every room
- Last but not least - I'm almost 50, used to CDs and maybe I do miss
the good old SCSI-time ;)

So thanks a lot for every new release of this nice Plugin

I can confirm - My first try did not show anything, too - then I had a
small snack and after that... all icons/program texts, etc, appeared.

Mmhh... let's try to explain.
- All my physical players died or have been removed for other reasons
- I still have some CDs which I didn't ripped up to know
- My son often brings Audio CDs from his school lessons (French,
English, etc.) as part of the textbooks (and I don't want to copy them
to my NAS)
- I own a small external and simple USB DVD-Writer which I've connected
to my RasPi 4 LMS-Server and voilà I've a CD-Player in all rooms
- and... I'm almost 50 - so I'm maybe used to CDs :-))

Yes - to contact them would be a way. I try what I can do. Maybe you
could provide your 'unfinished plugin' and it can teach me how to do
things... ;)
Anyway - I'm very happy with your opml-Implementation since I do not
have a Premium/Selection Account either (thinking strongly about it)...
and by the way I didn't know about this easy way to get all streams well
organized. Thank you for that!

Hi Paul, just tried the opml-File it - it works great! Thank you very
much to put effort in it. Anyway, with my setup, the icon/program name
works actually.

The only downer - the thing with the premium account. Overall, you're
right, there is less interest in Klassik Radio around the world. But in
the D-A-CH region they have well over 6 million listeners - it is a
serious radio station. Because of the language of course... your BBC has
a much better initial situation :)

Without storing every single stream in the favorites. Maybe there is
also a plug-in?

Great! It works - from my point of view you can publish it to the
official 3'rd party repo. And me by myself learned something about 'sub
getMetadataFor' in the protocol handler :)

Hi BoomX2,

driven by ralphy's post I had a look at the icon issue. It seems it is
does not show on jive/jivelite players because of  'menuStyle => 'album'
'. I've changed the .pm file like

I've seen no side effects so far. And I also created an icon (see
attached) in the same style as the other one and put into

Works great on my side. May you tell me why you've used a pointer in
'Plugin.pm'

great plugin and works "out of the box" after I compiled and installed
mimic1 for my RPi. But just one question - Did I miss something or is
the only way to send out a TTS-Message via URL and browser e.g.:

http://lmsserver:9000/plugins/LMSannounce/js.html?cmd=announceTTS=mimic-slt=Paul.%20dinner%20is%20ready=00%3A04%3A20%3A10%3A1a%3A25

No interface for just typing a text and send?

Thanks a lot for clearifing and the info. Yes, with the
controller/restart I already came into contact and I'm aware of it.
Nevertheless... I can't find my fault regarding trying to addapt this
plugin - I'll keep on searching because the issues are usually in
front of the computer

Yes - Squeezer and all Jive/Jivelite players as well as the Transporter.
As I learned from a Michael Herger comment, it depends from how the
plugin is hooked. Unfortunately I didn't managed it up to know to
adaped/change the plugin - even reagarding the icon

Yes, there is no uniform solution. In the late 90's I worked on a chip
for audio decoding. As far as I can remember, there were two approaches
that were followed. The RDS data are extracted from the FM signal and
transmitted via DVB RDS additional information. Either sent in a
separate data stream that runs on its own RDS-PID (Packet Identifier),
like audio on the APID and video on the VPID or videtext on the TTX-PID.
This is called a "private stream". The broadcasters of the FFH group
have done this for a long time.

ARD and IRT have come up with something else and introduced radio
transponders. The RDS data is tunneled in the MP2 audio data stream.

Sometimes (Eutelsat / Hotbird) the title and intepret are packed into
the EPG, which is constantly updated. This is therefore always displayed
when the PVR recording is played back.

I'm not sure if I got it right - but the lasted version 1.2 of SigGen
creates a button/menu under Extras (not web UI e.g. Matrial)

(plugins/SigGen/html/icon.png) failed - I'm not sure what
I'm missing... My so really liked this plugin for his physics lesson to
understand the parameters while home schooling  :)

Hi Andrew, I didn't want to convince you... but great that I did ;). I
see you've put a lot of work with a great result in the plugin and from
my point of view, the more people read/use it, the better.

Regarding EPG/RDS... that would be the icing on the cake! Do you know

I can totally understand what you are saying - but maybe on the other
hand if the plugin is visible for everyone, someone could extend/
support the features who never will get into touch with the plugin if
not listet. Consider... the documentation of your plugin is much better
than for many older plugins which are still listet.

@cpd73, SDT is the SuperDateTime plugin maintained by boomX2. It's a
super useful and a very nice plugin showing e.g. weather conditions via
erlands CustomClock. It also provides an extra menu for e.g. weather
forecast, stock information, ... maybe @boomX2 could have a look why
this plugin is hooked in the way like it is. @mherger, is there some
documentation somewhere I can find? By the way... the SignalGenerator -
my son is using forschool currently - seems to be hooked in the same
way... not appears in the GUI.

That's interesting - I'm running on Raspbian Buster 10/ ffmpeg 4.1.6
(no! PlayMP4 plugin) with LMS8.2. I can play the MPEG-4 streams from
Mixcloud on SB Radio (Community Firmware: 8.0.1-r16844) and on
piCorePlayer (SqueezeLite v1.9.9-1372-pCP) for hours w/o any issues. BUT
neither with the Transporter nor with the Receiver I can stream. There I

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the response - you are right! It guess it was just the
re-starting. I removed my changes and beside the warning, your plugin
works perfectly! I did not do that much just adding the prefixed to
preferences names. I guess, the hint with the wrapper in Paul's link is
much more elegant. I didn't get it working - because of my limited Perl
skills :( 

By the way- my transporter is directly located under my (Kodi)-TV so I
don't know how I could survived without your plugin - it's absolutely
great! Only one minor thing. If I use the time shift functionality and
stop live TV, the remaining playback time still counts. Another thing -
a possibility to use/ deactivate the visualizer screen would be great.
Maybe for display the station icon? Btw, there is no token returns the
current station, right? I guess even because of my limited knowledge of
LMS plugins I have to try to dig a bit deeper into it.

Names' were are used in the settings.htm. Now it's working

It's a really old plugin but I just tried to get Kodi-Information on the
Transporter Display. Plugin installs/starts fine and in I can choose
player -> ScreenSaver -> XSqueezeDisplay. But finally after setup I
don't get Kodi's playing info on the screen - just current date/time

view - next one is the major release 1.0.0 :)

Maybe you can have a look what happens if you've an account and sign in.
To be honest - I do not have an account. Btw, would be great if you link
your GitHub in install.xml for Rel 1.0.0 e.g. for a fast access and to

As I wrote I'm using 4.3 and indeed I compiled by myself for Buster from
the master... Because it started on a RPi3 I did not linked
Transcode/av-lib (performance reasons) and so far I never missed it. You
can find a similar Image and the buildinfo here:

I'm using TVHeadEnd as a dedicated server since a long time. Actually
it's (4.3-1857~g221c29b40) running together with LMS 8.2.0 on a separate
RPi4 25/7 w/o any issues. It's fed by two DVB-C tuners (SAT>IP) via
LAN. Everything like timeshift, recording (to a NAS) EPG is working
really nice and smooth. Clients are Kodi (Kodi18.9/OSMC on a RPi3) two
phones with Android 8.0.0 and Kodi 19 as well as one Win10 PC with Kodi
19 (my son's room).

The best is, since I found Andrews TVH PlugIn for LMS - It's very easy
to listen to all audio streams (Radio and TV) from TvHeadEnd from any
SqueezePlayer incl. icons and Co. Maybe sometime in the future EPG will
work in that combo.

Yes, I know - that's why I still stay with my old Kodi 18.9 - I tried
Kodi 19 on my PC and so far it's still fine - all my Add-ons (mainly
TVHeadEnd client) are working. Nevertheless, with the OSMC update I'll
wait until I switch to an RPi4 :-D

Nope - that's not my issue - installation (1.0.19 from marcelveldt beta
repository) and startup (under Kodi 18.9/ because it OSMC 2020-11-26) is
fine.
