Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng poll: Do you use "Album art touch to play"?

Question: What do you think about "touch-to-play-album" for
cover art in iPeng?

- I use this and like it.
- I don't use this and it disturbs me
- I don't care

I like the "touch and play" feature, but maybe you could bring back the
option controls (play, add, etc) to the album listing page, like they
were in they were in the previous version of iPeng.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

2009-12-01 Thread corbey

Thanks for the update, Neil!

However, the only way I could get it to install was by using the
old-fashioned way. I had go to your website to download version 3.5 and
then copy the new files to my plugins directory. I tried uninstalling
and reinstalling using the Plugins page, but I kept getting the old
version.

When I clicked on your link above, my browser just displayed the XML
file, but I didn't know how to run it in Windows Vista.

Thanks again.

I doubt if XM will be going away anytime soon. There are still way too
many cars on the road that use it, with more being sold everyday,
including Honda.

Also, if you're not a Sirius subscriber, they charge $12.95/mo for
their Internet service.

Sirius XM also had to update their iPhone app. Haven't they heard of
backwards compatibility?

Yep, I'm listening now using Vista Ultimate with SBS 7.4.1! Thanks very
much for getting it working again.

Maybe we could all petition Logitech not to break the XM plugin again.

Yep, finally got around to finding and trying uXM, and it's working.
Thanks for the tip. Guess I can upgrade to 7.4 now.

I know it's kind of a pain, but why not just roll back to 7.3.3 so you
can use the plug-in again?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Is there a working XM Radio Plugin?

2009-10-14 Thread corbey

Not for 7.4 yet, as far as I know. But if you're using SqueezeCenter 7.3
or earlier, you can download a working plugin from Community > Plugins >
PluginsAudio.

And the plugin for 7.4 is apparently under development.

I know you're correct about this; however, if Logitech wants to
establish a broader customer base, I think they're going to need to take
more responsibility for ensuring that plugins work before they release
an update. Many people just expect a product they buy to work, and they
don't make any distinctions regarding 3rd-party developers. It all comes
from Logitech's website, after all.

As a comparison, imagine what would happen if half the apps on the
iPhone or Touch stopped working when Apple released a software update,
and Apple's only response was, "Third-party developers! And you're
screwed until they decide to fix it!" As it is, I've upgraded my Touch
multiple times, and I don't think a third-party app has ever stopped
working. Maybe Logitech could learn something from this model.

Thanks. I read this in the general forum too. Since I seldom need to use
SqueezeNetwork (or whatever it's called now), I don't think I'll be
upgrading to 7.4 until XM connectivity gets fixed.
