to quote my wife"dont fiddle with the song info, I am so happy it
has stopped rebuffering!" so all I can say is one huge thank you for
your amazing work, ,and if you get a paypal donation going, I am
certainly clicking!
Thanks
quick update:
still all good, no rebuffering at all!! amazing.
However, 1st world problem I know, but the info about the song playing
is out of sync with the 3 mins delay. ie, you get the song info for the
'live radio' and the actual music is 3 mins behind that, this is on SB3.
On squeezeplay
btw still have delay set to 3 mins.

switched to R6 listening now for 4 mins, not a single glitch. Bit too
early to get too excited, but so far so very good.

bit more info:
all my players are hardwired on gigabyte network. Router is ASUS RT-N66U

No issues at all with play back of radio, only re-buffers with live
music.
my experience:-
quad core i5 (all 4 cores shown in resource meters)
just playing with bbc radio 2 right now, and ran for 4 mins, no
rebuffer, better than normal. then rebuffered, caught the network

I will install a new LMS on a powerful laptop and switch over to see if
there is anything about the desktop I am using. The machine is stock,
with very little on it, so I don't think I should be so unique, but you
never know. thought last night might be sugarcube plugin, but have
disabled that
seems like the obvious option is go linux. does anyone virtualize in
hyper V on windows10 a linux instance, or would that still ultimately
draw on windows subsystem components (maybe showing my VM ignorance
here) or maybe permanently switch this machine over to a pure play Linux
(which one?)
only stock windows10 defender, but turned it off too last night to
remove that as a possibility

just tried that, restarted LMS playing Radio 2 and had 3 drops in 50

Display says BBC Radio 2: 0 mins delay.
but the delay is set to 2 mins.
might i still be using the wrong DASH.pm file?
1:14 in on radio 2 after switching and another brief rebuffer!
davidismynaim's Profile:
yes, I have did that, when i installed the .pm on the post earlier, i
renamed the dash.pm, now i removed the 'post' version and renamed the
original back to dash.pm and stopped and restarted LMS. have been
listening to Radio 2 now for 16 mins and no rebuffer! will switch to a
different station
tried HLS, still rebuffers and takes about 25 second to start. switching
back to DASH now...connects straight away. and now playing for 2 mins
and hasn't rebuffered yet!
davidismynaim's Profile:
hi
yes have restored dash.pm file.
so weird that it 'settles' down. on Radio2 for 43 mins now, and now
there are no drops at all. strange.
i think you are asking have i tried changing the setup pref to use HLS
in the live stream pref rather than DASH. Trying now...
rechecked after more drop outs

Could Sugarcube plugin be a possible conflict, it is a plugin that auto
picks the next track to play from my music library based on music
signatures (musicip) clutching at straws.

no I will try...
if I turn off i get Error no items found in playlist displayed. so I am
guessing the answer is No it does support AAC naively
Just trying listen again, so far so good. mostly ok in the past too,
just switched to Radio2 and its rebuffered twice in 1st 2 mins :(
should I clear down any cache or pref files, really don't understand why
I seem to have worse experience than most using this plug-in
btw have fastest virgin-media going for broadband.
Hi DPA
great work as always at trying to get to the bottom of rebuffering. I
have just applied your latest beta and the DASH.pm file you posted a few
pages back. I have a i5-4440 8GB desktop running latest windows 10 pro.
Had terrible problems with rebuffering on all squeezebox devices I own
I thought I would add more of my experience. I am using Win10 (i5
desktop 8GB) running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1472021444 @
Wed Aug 24 07:08:19 CUT 2016.
I have highest speed broadband with Virgin Media. The win10 shows no
signs of stress. very little CPU stress. plays 24/96 FLAC
totally get that, but have tried HLS also, neither seem any better than
the other, I am assuming I can do that all within the plugin you have
provided rather than uninstall this one and load up another build? ie
switch the preference in the setup to HLS ahead of DASH?
thanks so much, I will try when I have a bit of free time and can mess
without upsetting other ;)
Very happy to stick with non-uk if it remains as stable it has been
tonight, as I mainly listen to 24/96 music of my own, my wife is less
critical but notices when it keeps stopping!! lol.
no reason re the different options, here, just tried all combinations,
and I don't have problem with play back, so I have been playing with the
live settings most. This evening playing R2 without any issues on Non-UK
setting, I will tell my Wife to use that tomorrow and give it a proper
test (she

Hi there, I hope bpa or others might be able to help...
I recently had to move my LMS (Version: 7.9.0 - 1467729831 @ Fri Jul 8
04:05:20 CUT 2016) to a windows 10 PC as my old WHS 2003 server finally
gave up the ghost. PC is i5, 8GB RAM and fast modern drives so way more
horse power than my old
I am following your route of using foobar to scan and tag my 12000
tracks on LMS. Nearly killed my WHS while it tries to keep up with
mirroring onto both disks!
My question is have you figured out a neat way to re-run the workflow
say once a month to pick up new music. I don't really want to
