Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I took a chance and updated the OS to Ventura, macos 13.1. Shairtunes2w is still working for me, with LMS 8.3.1, in native M1 architecture. What I don't dare doing however, is even trying to open the preferences in the Shairtunes plugin. Somehow i got the preferences set right in all my flailing about. But previously in my flailing, I got into a deep dark hole accessing the preferences, and I'm leaving well enough alone for now. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It looks like a heroic effort to me. Shairtunes *is already* working with M1, but only with LMS 8.2.x and perl5.18. It's possible that the needed mods are on the LMS side, to make LMS 8.3.x work with M1 and whatever versions of perl ship with the current macos (apparently 5.18 and 5.30). fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
It seems that when LMS is upgraded to version 8.3.x on macos, it also used perl5.34 (and/or possibly a custom version of perl from the LMS team) Code: Logitech Media Server Version: 8.3.1 - 1670824772 @ Mon Dec 12 07:19:58 CET 2022 Hostname: Fredericks-Mac-Mini.local Server IP Address: 192.168.68.58 Server HTTP Port Number: 9000 Operating system: macOS 12.5 - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: Apple M1 Perl Version: 5.34.0 - darwin-thread-multi-2level Audio::Scan: 1.06 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.072 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0) Total Players Recognized: 2 According to an earlier post here by Philippe, his shairtunes2w does not work with perl5.34. Forcing use of perl5.18, as suggested in this thread by Pazzazu worked for me on my intel mac, but it did not work for me on my M1 mac -- LMS simply wouldn't start when forced to use perl5.18. Executive summary: there seems to be a conflict between expectations for versions of perl in LMS 8.3.x on macos and in shairtunes2w vs. 1.0.x. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I tried today's new version 1.0.15. I got the same result, same error messages in the log file. I did set the helper file to arm64 in the preferences (for macos M1). Moreover, I have somehow once again got into the situation where the preferences are no longer accessible through the web interface; trying to access them gives the html error message: 404 Not Found: plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/ShairTunes2W/settings/basic.html Moreover, I cannot correct this by uninstalling the plugin through the plugins manager AND manually removing /Users/fgoodman/Library/Application\ Support/Squeezebox/plugin/shairtunes.prefs . If I re-install shairtunes through the plugins manager, I just get back to the "404 not found" message. The last time I was here, the only escape I found was to do a clean install of LMS from scratch. Evidently, when things go south, you are leaving behind some piece of information somewhere which prevents trying again with a clean slate. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It was recently working for me on mac os 12.6.1, LMS version 8.2.1, and a recent version of shairtunes2. After update to shairtunes2 version 1.0.13, it no longer worked with either LMS 8.2.1 or 8.3.0. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I previously commented that sharitunes2W works on my os x installation of LMS, after some initial glitches which are unimportant. Now what I find is that I can redirect output from several apps on iOS on my iPhone to my squeezebox player ("Transporter"). Also I can redirect output from iTunes on my laptop to "Transporter" via an airplay menu that is available in the iTunes application. However, this does not work: in the os x systems preferences, it is possible to choose "Transporter" of type "Airplay" as the output device for system sound. However, when I start some video, e.g. inside my web browser "Safari", I get no sound output via LMS.I can provide the LMS log if desired. Of course, this is not terribly important to me, but it would be nice to be able to view music videos on my mac laptop and have the sound play through LMS. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106289 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
I tried to install both (but not together of course) airtunes2 and airtunes2W plugins on LMS 7.9.0 on os x 10.7.5. Neither seemed to work. In particular the LMS server log contains the line: avahi-publish-player not in path (for both versions of the plugin.) Do I have to install avahi separately? OS X already has bonjour built in, but the plugins probably don't know where to find it. If so, how do I do that? There was no avahi-daemon running nor a file /etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf on my system. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I have the latest iPeng on iphone 5 with latest iOS.I had to install a new router in my house. After that, iPeng doesn't find my players. It no longer automatically finds my LMS server either, but it gives me the chance to enter it in the settings. Playing from the server to the players using the web interface works fine; i.e. the players and LMS communicate correctly.I tried reinstalling iPeng, but that didn't help. I am not using myqueezebox, just a local server. Is there a way to tell iPeng about the players? By the way, the logitech squeezebox app also doesn't find players or the server after installing the new router. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Yes, the iphone is on wifi. Running a network scanner from the iPhone (inet or fing) finds the computer running LMS as well as both players. I wonder how ipeng identifies players as players? Does it use information from LMS? By the way, after reinstalling iPeng, and entering the server address in settings, iPeng seems to be just spinning it's wheels loading the music database. It's been quite some time, maybe an hour, and iPeng still says it's loading the database. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Thanks for the suggestion to try to connect from the iPhone to the LMS web server; that didn't work either, and that tipped me off to the problem. The anti-virus/anti-vandal software on the computer with the LMS server had blocked the (new) ip address of my iPhone, as a result of the iPhone scanning the network. I removed the block and now iPeng is back in business. fredgoodman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR blaster -- volume buttons on server webpage?
Yes, that does work, thanks. In fact, it works better than volume +/- using the logitech remote and IR blaster, because on the web interface, one can click quickly several times in quick succession to change volume by several steps. On the original device remote, a single quick press of volume up/down gives one step change in volume, while a sustained press gives several steps in quick succession, after a brief pause. I suppose this is the usual behavior for control of volume by remotes. It would be nice if the plugin author could also emulate this behavior. I don't know if this was the intention, but in any case, I don't get this (desirable) behavior. Nevertheless, it is remarkable that the plugin works as well as it does. [SlimDevices: Plugins] IR blaster -- volume buttons on server webpage?
Would it be possible for the developer of IR blaster to put buttons on the Squeezebox Server webpage to control volume via whatever mechanism is defined through the IR blaster settings? In case the main server webpage is off limits to plugin developers, would it be possible to have another little floating window with volume up/down buttons? When volume up/down is enabled in IR blaster, the volume setting of the player itself is fixed, and there is no volume control from the Server webpage. In this case, I would like to have volume up/down buttons on the Server webpage which would be functionally equivalent to the volume up/down buttons on the remote control, and which would result in sending volume up/down signals to the preamp or amp.
