I eventually discovered the settings to input the username and password. Seconds, I receive this error shortly after it eventually loads: RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded at Function.o.extend.map (file:///Users/david/Downloads/LMS%20Remote.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/js/jquery.min.js:2:3558) at eval (file:///Users/david/Downloads/LMS%20Remote.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/js/script.js:563:28) at eval (/Users/david/Downloads/LMS Remote.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/node_modules/logitechmediaserver/squeezeplayer.js:36:16) at IncomingMessage.eval (/Users/david/Downloads/LMS Remote.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/node_modules/node-json-rpc/lib/rpcclient.js:182:9) at IncomingMessage.EventEmitter.emit (events.js:120:20) at eval (_stream_readable.js:896:16) at process._tickCallback (node.js:534:11) I say eventually since my music library is very large. I'm using the Mac version. A minor issue is that the button is placed below the pause button with the default window size: 15754 It works if I make the window a bit wider. I love the search function, it's just too bad that it isn't shown by default since it's hidden unless you make the window a bit wider. It's perfect that it's possible to search for favourite since this makes it possible to launch Dynamic Playlist plugin based playlists with it. Some items on my wish list for a future release: - Integration with TrackStat so it's possible to view/set rating of current song. API is found on TrackStat page on the wiki: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/TrackStat_plugin#CLI_interface - Integration with Music Artist Information plugin making it possible to view artist image. Maybe switching between artist/album image. API is found here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?99537-Announce-Music-amp-Artist-Information-pluginp=759181viewfull=1#post759181 - Not sure if it would also make sense to integrate it with Song Lyrics plugin making it possible to show song lyrics for currently playing song. API is found through Song Info plugin: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Song_Info_plugin and you need to use *songlyrics* as module name. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announcing: LMS Remote Controller App for Mac OS X
today I worked on LMS Remote again and added some new features. Here are the changes: I love how you approach some things differently from some of us other devs. Nice job - keep it going! (and don't forget the school anyway :-)) - Added a Quick Search function that allows you to search for tracks, albums, artists, playlists and favorites and start them right from LMS Remote Very quick indeed! But you don't cache the data between starts, do you? I see that my server (Atom based) is at 100% load for several seconds when starting your app. There's a lastscan timestamp as part of the serverstatus query which would allow you refresh the cache when needed (and in the latest 7.7.4 and 7.8 nightlies that value should be even more reliable than before...). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Also tried Search: Floyd showed Floyd Cramer and Pink Floyd under Artists and Music of Pink Floyd under Albums, same results as the LMS web interface. Clicking on Pink Floyd loaded everything I have, which I guess is the same as clicking on Play in the web interface. The only odd thing I noticed was that my Radio was missing from the player list - turned out it had disconnected itself from the network (which it does periodically). Uncaught node.js Error TypeError: Cannot call method 'getItem' of null I think this happens after changing some of the settings. After I had restarted the app, it worked just fine for 10-15 minutes. I then opened the settings screen and disabled fanart. Boom! After the next title change I got the same error again. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Leo, Thanks a lot for the quick updates! And thanks for giving us access to the dev console. This will help us a lot to help you figure out issues like the one I'm seeing. Version 0.4 of the LMS Remote App is now online. Here are some things that I've changed: This still says 0.2 in the settings screen, doesn't it? I just downloaded the latest and greatest I could get using your download link (which doesn't come with a version number). Unfortunately it still fails to show remote artwork. I'm running LMS 7.8 and use its new internal image proxy for some of my plugins. These seem to cause problems with LMS Remote Controller: Failed to load resource file:///Users/mh/Downloads/LMS%20Remote%202.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/i…s%2Fthumb%2Fe%2Fee%2FRadio_SRF_3.svg%2F500px-Radio_SRF_3.svg.png/image.png It seems your app does not recognize relative URLs. The data sent in the status update is: artwork_url: imageproxy/http%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2Fthumb%2Fe%2Fee%2FRadio_SRF_3.svg%2F500px-Radio_SRF_3.svg.png/image.png This request should be sent to LMS. Please check those URLs whether they are fully qualified URLs or not. The following lines need to be improved: if(res.result.playlist_loop[0].artwork_url != undefined){ $(#background-cover, #background-cover-front).css({background-image: url(' + res.result.playlist_loop[0].artwork_url + ')}); Keep up the excellent work! -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Not sure how people use the OSX dashbaord but this feels like something that could fit there. We already have quite a few options for phones and tablets although If it retains the elegant simplicity the screenshots seem to show with relatively basic options it might work very well as a widget in Android. A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101145 Question: What platform do you want to use LMS Remote on? - Mac OS X - Windows - Linux Hi erland, thanks for your great feedback! Here are the responses to your points: If I enter the IP address of my server and don't select player immediately, the display just shows Uncaugut node.js Error, TypeError: Cannot call method jsonRequest of undefined at eval (file:///Users/erland/Downloads/LMS%20Remove.app/Contents/Resources/app.nw/js/script.js:256:39). It works if I'm fast enough to select player. It might be a good idea to let it automatically select one of the player after connecting to a new server. Fixed in the new version. The - button seems to close the app if I click it when the app is maximized, I assume this shouldn't happen ? This was a bug in node-webkit, but I managed to create a workaround, so it shouldn't happen anymore. Not sure if it's possible, but if it's possible to show the album cover in the growl notification instead of the note icon, that would be really great. This is a great idea. I've implemented it in the new version. I wonder if it would be preferred to show the artist name and maybe also the album name below the track title in the artwork window, currently if the track has a long title it's barely possible to see the artist. With this point, I don't really know what looks better. When the window is small ( 200x200 pixels), two rows of text would hide too much of the artwork. If the window is bigger, you don't need two lines as everything fits just fine mostly. I'll see what I can do there. It could be a good idea to provide a settings options from the tray menu so one doesn't have to open the artwork window to reach the settings dialog Yep. Implemented :) I wonder if it would make sense to offer it as a dashboard widget in OSX. Not sure how people use the OSX dashbaord but this feels like something that could fit there. Note, I'm not requesting this functionality myself because I've not yet realized how/when/how I should take advantage of the OSX dashboard. I don't know if it is possible to let this app run as a widget in Mac OS X as it runs on node-webkit. If node-webkit doesn't support it, I'm afraid I can't implement this feature :( To make configuration easier, it should auto discover the LMS server, this will make it do the right thing for 95% of all users and will avoid the initial configuration completely. The Java code related to this from my Squeeze Display Android app follows below in case it helps you how to do it. Basically you need to do a UDP broadcast on port 3483 and then the LMS server will respond with IP-address, port, name and version and this should be enough information to configure it in LMS Remote app. You still need the manual configuration for people using LMS Remote from a remote location, but for most people using LMS Remote on the local network automatic discovery should work. Thanks for your code snippet! I've implemented auto discovery in the new version. However, I still can't seem to get the CLI port automatically. Is there a way to find it out using either the JSON API or UDP? Maybe you could make it possible to launch LMS from LMS Remote app ? This way I can use LMS Remote as my main controller and just launch LMS from it to browse/search for new music to play. I've added a button for that in the header bar and in the tray menu in the new version. It's a bit confusing then the LMS Remote app launch in Always on top the first time and the first thing it does is to ask you for configuration of the server and it opens the server configuration behind the LMS Remote app window. This issue shouldn't happen anymore :) I'll upload the new version and let you know when it's online. Here are some things that I've changed: - Settings are now accessible through the Tray Menu - Added a button to open the Logitech Web UI to the header bar and the tray menu - The Server's IP address and HTTP port are now automatically discovered on the first start - Notifications now show the currently playing cover instead of the note icon - When possible, Artist Fanart is fetched from fanart.tv and used as a background instead of the cover. This also works for online radio stations. However, it doesn't work for many artists yet... - When there's a better artwork available online, it will be shown as the background when no fanart is found - Many bugfixes and stability improvements You can download it at http://cdn-new.leolabs.org/lms-remote.zip, the Windows version will be available later... Good morning everyone, today, I've worked on the Remote App, added some new features and fixed some bugs. Here are the major changes: - Removed gradients and the blur effect in the UI for a simpler look and better performance - Added a seeking bar and additional track information on the large-window version - Artwork now loads correctly when listening to online radio stations - Artwork doesn't reload anymore when it doesn't change - Added Growl notifications when the Track changes - Closing the main window now minimizes it into the tray You can download the new Version here: http://cdn-new.leolabs.org/lms-remote2.zip Answering your feedback: local.bin: Nice app, thanks for the work :) Thanks for your positive feedback :) erland: I'd love to have an option to make it live in the tray area and just display a temporary notification when the music changes to new song. Showing the splash through Growl or as a notification would work for me. I've integrated this function into the new version of this app. You can download it below. It would also be great to integrate it with the Music Artist Information plugin: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...rmation-plugin So it can show artist images and other extra information and not just the album art. Another interesting alternative would be to make it run as a screen saver, not sure if that's possible but I could definitely see myself having a laptop with the lid open and screen saver active which shows what's currently playing on my LMS. I'll see if I can integrate that. My focus right now is to integrate a quick search function so you can start from this app, too, which isn't possible right now and to create a simple settings menu. mherger: But that's not the problem I was seeing: listening to eg. Radio Paradise I would have album covers on the devices, in the web UI, everywhere. But your app would only show the generic antenna. The current URL you're using doesn't work with internet radio streams. You should use the status query to get all the data you need (see the web UI ;-)). No need to query artist/album/title etc. separately. I've changed most API requests to the JSON-RPC API (which is awesome, by the way - thanks for the tip) so covers are now loaded when you listen to a radio station. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announcing: LMS Remote Controller App for Mac OS X
Hi there, in the past few weeks I've set up a network of SqueezeBox Clients that are connected to my Media Center. I've since wanted to be able to control those clients with just one click, without having to open my browser and going to the Web UI of LMS first. So, I developed a small App for Mac OS X that will allow you to control your SqueezeBox Clients with a nice and clean UI. This App is still in Alpha state, but it already allows you to control the volume, play/pause and skip tracks. Playlist functionality will maybe be added later. Here are some Screenshots: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v326qm6oni0jnyi/Screenshot%202014-03-13%2019.29.38.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/eh6f5d5jmjs46nh/Screenshot%202014-03-13%2019.30.11.png I would be happy if you could try this App out and give me some feedback or new ideas. You can download the app here: http://cdn-new.leolabs.org/lms-remote.zip Fo anyone interested, this App is written in HTML, JS and uses some modules from Node.JS. When I have access to a Windows maschine, I'll upload the Windows version aswell. So, I developed a small App for Mac OS X that will allow you to control your SqueezeBox Clients with a nice and clean UI. This App is still in Nice! I like the clean UI, and its flexibility wrt. window size. Except that it doesn't show artwork for online radio stations. And that it would _always_ stay on top. I would be happy if you could try this App out and give me some feedback or new ideas. First of all: don't use the CLI. To use json/rpc is not only much more reliable, but seems the natural choice for anything written in JS! I haven't understood yet what Node's role is in this app: are you running your own web server to interface with LMS' web server? Why not implement this as a skin in LMS, plus a wrapper around webkit to make it standalone? -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Nice! I like the clean UI, and its flexibility wrt. window size. Except that it doesn't show artwork for online radio stations. And that it would _always_ stay on top. I'll add an option that enables you to decide whether you want the window to stay on top or not. Considering the artwork for online radio stations, I could just use the method used in the web UI, but the returned images often have a poor quality. Maybe there's a better API somewhere out there :) First of all: don't use the CLI. To use json/rpc is not only much more reliable, but seems the natural choice for anything written in JS! I haven't understood yet what Node's role is in this app: are you running your own web server to interface with LMS' web server? I've decided to choose the API provided via CLI as it provides real-time information about your clients' status. For example, if you change the volume or track on a client, the app will be instantly notified and represent these changes with as little latency as possible. The Node.JS part provides a telnet client that is used to connect to the server control it. Maybe I can keep the CLI part just for the notifications and do the rest using the JSON/RPC API. Why not implement this as a skin in LMS, plus a wrapper around webkit to make it standalone? That's a good idea. I'll see if I can do that. leolabs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62666 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101145 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Considering the artwork for online radio stations, I could just use the method used in the web UI, but the returned images often have a poor quality. Maybe there's a better API somewhere out there :) Huh? The images in the web UI are scaled down on the server side - if you blow them up as the background picture, then yes, you'll have poor quality. But the resizing is optional. Just don't add resizing parameters (the _50x50 kind of thing). Without those parameters you should get the original data. No better, no worse. But that's not the problem I was seeing: listening to eg. Radio Paradise I would have album covers on the devices, in the web UI, everywhere. But your app would only show the generic antenna. The current URL you're using doesn't work with internet radio streams. You should use the status query to get all the data you need (see the web UI ;-)). For example, if you change the volume or track on a client, the app will be instantly notified and represent these changes with as little latency as possible. Ok, that's a point. But I wouldn't use it for the polling of information as you currently do (aforementioned artist/album/etc. information). The Node.JS part provides a telnet client that is used to connect to the server control it. Maybe I can keep the CLI part just for the notifications and do the rest using the JSON/RPC API. That would be my suggestion. Or try to implement cometd :-). Is there a long-polling module for Node.js available? Probably not the client part of it... -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
