I did.

And I'm glad it's all working fine and the SD card: I can now make a
running LMS in 6 minutes.

Again: thanks for your explanations.

No need to change.
It can reduce writes to your SD card - which might help increase its
lifespan or perhaps on a restoration from uncontrolled power failure.
However, I suspect a lot of people do not move it and they have no
problems.
Take a backup to cover the possibility of issues in the future and then
when it does go wrong you can kick yourself for not having taken a
backup more recently.

Hi

On the pCP LMS page
"Maximum wait for remote network at boot" ... increase the value.

I increased the value to 60 but it does not help.
Is it necesarry to change to the mounted drive, because everything is
working fine?

I suspect that the mounted drive is not writable or the script is not
able to correctly create the necessary folders etc

Good progress.

Perhaps the save to the mounted file system failed ... or the file
system was not remounted fast enough before the attempt to start LMS.

You can tell pCP to wait longer for the network mount to complete.
On the pCP LMS page
"Maximum wait for remote network at boot" ... increase the value.

Hi Paul

I just started from the beginning.
Format SD card, piCore on it and start the PI3b.
Resize "Whole SD card' and 'Beta'.
Now install LMS and controlled if 'automatically start LMS' was enabled
- Reboot - and LMS was automatically running.
Now 'Install and Enable additional File Systems' - Reboot - and LMS was
automatically running.
Now 'Setup Network Disk Mount' with CIFS - Reboot - and LMS was
automatically running.
Now 'Save LMS Server Cache and Preferences to Mounted Drive' - Reboot -
and no automatically running and the webinterface will not open!

Again started from the beginning without 'Save LMS Server Cache and
Preferences to Mounted Drive' and it works perfect even when I don't
shutdown but remove the adapter and start again. The webinterface also
opened.

I don't know why 'Save LMS Server Cache and Preferences to Mounted
Drive' causes the problem.

But I'm glad I have the solution and all is working fine.

Thanks for all your help!

Logs showing what happens when the problem happens would help.

Also ... where should be no need to format (ever) and no need to
reinstall pCP ... but ... if you are seeing problems that can only be
resolved by completely reinstalling pCP then maybe the issue is
somewhere else.
For example a rare RPi hardware problem or, and more likely, an
underpowered power supply or poor cable/connector.

Only one logging mode, He must have LMS auto start turned off. That

Looks like it received an IP address without problem.

Mine shows LMS starting ... but yours doesn't.
Odd.
Maybe I have enabled a more detailed boot log but I don't remember doing
that (or it even being possible).

Is it still set to autostart LMS on boot?

Your main router and NAS must be powered up before LMS starts. The pi
is going to boot faster than any of the other devices.

Does the pCP boot log show it getting an IP address before LMS is

[SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS on PI3b

2021-05-07 Thread Peet

Hi

I installed piCore on a PI 3b and then LMS (because Synology stopped
with LMS).
When I start LMS and mount a Synology map with the music: it works
fine.
In LMS 'startup automatically' is enabled.
But when I shutdown in piCore and reconnect the PI LMS does not start. A
manually start gives: LMS is running but the LMS webpage will not open
and the Squeezebox Touch can't find the music anymore.
I emptied the cache but that did not solve the problem.

Who knows what going wrong here.

Regards Peet
