[SlimDevices: Plugins] Possible to add 3rd pary Plugins to MySqueezebox.com?

2010-06-15 Thread majtchus

Hello all,
I am planning to get rid of my SBS since I (almost) only use Spotify as
a music source.

The problem is that I am using IRBlaster to control my Reciever through
my Ipod Touch (Ipeng).
Is there any possibility to get around this problem?
(other than using the regular remote control for the Reciever =)

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Majtchus

Hi, I'm sorry I'm not able to help you with your question but just out
of curiosity, what kind of setup do you have to be able to control your
receiver through iPeng? Namely, what component is sending the IR
commands to the receiver and how do you control that with iPeng?
Something attached to SB3 and a plugin in SB3 that send the IR when you
send a certain command? But how it is integrated to iPeng?

Thanks, I appreciate if you have the time to elaborate your setup, it
sounds very cool and is something I'd like to be achieve too..:)

No Worries!
Maybe I exaggerated a little bit before.

The only thing I can control with my Ipod Touch/Ipeng/Squeezebox are
the Master Volume and the Power Switches (which are more just enough
for me =).

The IR commands are sent through the Squeezebox to the Receiver (and to
an external IR controlled Power Switch for the DAC) through an (three
headed)IR eye connected to the Squeezebox 3.5mm headphone connection to
the two IR receivers (the receiver and the power switch).

This is then controlled by Squeezecenter with the 3rd party application
IRBlaster. When I turn on the Squeezebox, IRBlaster sends the Power on
command to the IR receivers. It works similarly for Volume up/down and
Power off.
It doesent matter if I, for instance, change the volume through Ipeng
or through the Squeezecenter directly.

My setup is as follows:
Hardware:
Squeezebox Classic (Wifi to router)
Nad S300 (Reciever)
Cambridge Dacmagic (Digital-Analog-Converter)
BW 602 (Speakers)
IR-eye ( http://www.ljudmakarn.se/view.asp?art_id=1018menu=1 )
IR-controlled power switch for the DAC (
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12902 )
Ipod Touch (Remote control)
Laptop - Server (wire to router)
Laptop - Client (Wifi to router)
Router - D-Link

Software:
Squeezecenter (latest?)
IRBlaster (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/IRBlaster)
WaveInput - Planning to change to DSBridge for Spotify
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/WaveInput_plugin)(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64590highlight=spotify)
Ipeng application.

Hope that it was possible to understand, otherwise just ask again!

Cheers
Majtchus

Well, that's probably not what you'd like to hear, but AFAIK it's
impossible to use IRBlaster (or any plugin) through MySB.

So you basically have the choice between SBS (with IRBlaster) and MySB
(without being able to control your receiver).

If you want to use MySB only, you'll probably need to use your
receiver's remote for on/off and the digital volume control on the
SqueezeBox (i.e. disable fixed volume).

That was also what I thought...
Too bad, have to decide if I should keep the SBS of not.
