I was trying to install the ver. 6.5 on a 6.2.2 installationmy mistake It is now working fine in Slimserver. I can see all the stations and add the ones from the addon section...but... Alien BBC is still not working on my Squeezebox !! No stations are being streamed when I try to. SB just says connecting and thats it..this count for all stations in Alien BBC. As mentioned earlier I don't have any problems streaming stations when adding the link in a playlist. Did you delete the Alien folder when you re-install AlienBBC 1.02a for 6.2.2. One user had a problem which seemed to be caused by some files or settings left over after an install of Alien for 6.5. The disk activity is possibly caching of web pages being fetched. Can you post a log with d_plugins and d_source enabled when selecting a station. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23408 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Did you use a zip file to install AlienBBC or run the installer ? You can either open a log window from the Server Setting / Debugging webpage by clickling on the hyperlinked word here or use the command prompt which you have done already. To get log when selecting a station just keep the command prompt window open and message will appear in it after you select a station. Cut paste as before. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23408 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Except the Danish DR Channels, but if it's a link issue, I guess I have to wait for the update. The BBC channels are working fine now. I deleted the Alien folder in the Plugin directory, as well as the 2 .conf files (also found in the plugin folder) I unpacked all the files from the alienbbc-windows-v1.02a_6.2.zip file and copied them to the plugin folder (i.e. I copied the Alien folder to the Plugin folder), except the 2 .conf files, whic I copied to the server folder. Restarted Slimserver, and it worked. I think it was the 2 .conf files who did the error. You are all talking about running the installer .. What do you mean?? I can't find any information about running any installer, so I'm a bit confused here...!!?? On this page: http://www.x2systems.com/AlienBBC/installation.html#windows no words are mentioned about running an installer... Regarding the Danish channels: is it a thing I can play around with myself? I have already had a look in the AlienDRMenu.pm file, and I also got it working in the previous version, so if it's a matter of changing a link in the file, I think I can do it. -- SB3-Man Best Regards Allan SB3-Man's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4551 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23408 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

You are quite correct there aren't any instructions for the installer but if you go to the download page you will see the links - just download the exe and run it! The external stream was removed in v1.01 because most of the streams were invalid or duplicated. I have just tried enabling the Danmarks Radio and noticed that it no longer displays any stations! I think the web site that is parsed has changed, I'll take a look and see if I can fix it. In the mean time you could create a playlist with the station URL in it. Hi I'm having problems to get the new Alien BBC 1.02a to work. When I choose it in the menu on the Squeezebox, nothing happens...it dosen't connect to any stations...! I've updated to Slimserver 6.2.2 and everything else is running fine. I can connect to other streams on the net, when doing it via the playlist, but I can't get the Alien BBC to work. Further, when I press the Alien BBC link in the Slimserver menu (main menu/server settings/internet radio) I just get a blank page.. Looking at the properties for the link, I can see it's wrong. It's looking for a index file in the C:\Programmer\SlimServer\server\Plugins\Alien, but there isn't any. Pls. help anybody, so I can hear my dansih DAB channals again. -- SB3-Man Best Regards Allan SB3-Man's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4551 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23408 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I'm still having problems with 1.02a on slim server 6.2.2, running on debian sarge, with the error message: RTSP Convert Error - Check File Types being reported on the squeezebox display. However, I simply unpacked the tar on top of the previous alienbbc installation. I'll delete the plugin and reinstall to see if it makes a difference. Alienbbc 1.01 works fine. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: AlienBBC v1.02
As an aside, when the tar is unpacked, all the files belong to uid 501, which doesn't actually exist on my system, so they all need to be chown'd to the correct owner. Not a problem, but it is an extra hoop to jump through when installing... I've installed slimserver having converted the .rpm package to a .deb with alien (a differnet alien to alienbbc!). Running dpkg on the .deb installs all the slimserver files as owned by root (but executable by all). Perhaps this is where my problems/extra required steps are coming from? Well, it's not the playlist that's for sure. I can seem to find the ExternalStream menu under settings. Previously, it was the other streams that I used to hack to support what ever I needed. I am glad to see that mplayer.sh (for Mac and Linux) has been changed so that users no longer have to edit it if they put mplayer into /usr/local/bin. It is worth mentioning this. At some point (I am away for a few weeks, but will have access to a computer) I will write some new installation instructions for the Mac. With this change, and the newish mplayer that does not require an external codec, it's all a lot easier than it was. -- danco danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23408 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
