Ok, going by memory, I found a similar situation as a starting point.
FLAC disabled and PCM enabled. If you have no bandwidth problem
whatsoever on your network (troublesome WiFi, etc.) it might even make
sense leaving it as PCM, probably slightly less CPU usage. I personally
activated FLAC and disabled PCM.

For another data point, my FLAC is disabled too. I've never changed my
filetypes from default. I do have volume normalization turned on
("Smart Gain"). And I'm running LAME on rPi4B, with piCorePlayer.

Yeah, disabling volume adjustment/replay gain on the Touch changes the
stream details from
1411kbps CBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify) (Converted to PCM)
to
320k VBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify)

but the file types for either scenario remains:

I guess you have volume normalisation active, that disables OGG direct
streaming. Why do you disable FLAC?

Further to my above post, initial test was done using SqueezePlay on my
Mac.

So tried the same album on my different players...

Touch, Boom and Radio - all showed 1411kbps CBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify)
(Converted to PCM)

and the Spotty file type settings reverted to:

37546

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty and File Types

2022-03-23 Thread KeBul

I've never touched any file type settings, so all settings should be at
"default" LMS 8.3

Here's my Spotty file types:

37542

That intrigued me, very different from yours and had me wondering what
stream I received from Spotify.
So I browsed Spotify from LMS and selected a album to play... track
shows as "320k VBR, Ogg Vorbis (Spotify)" in LMS
and my Spotty files types are now:

37544

The other option from the drop down menu for FLAC is "spotty-hf/flac", I
guess that would become enabled should a FLAC stream be received.

Hope this helps (although it's not helped me :D )

I wanted to be sure these were the default settings, as I mentioned in

I've never been able to find a clear, simple explanation of the File

R). How do you know which Decoder dropdown to deploy? And is there a

I would say those settings are fine. You can enable Ogg Vorbis if you
like but if you use volume normalisation then FLAC will be used anyway.

Michael, not a problem as such, it's just that I noticed those settings
when I was looking for something else in the prefs, and I had a vague
feeling I may have reset Ogg settings for some reason in the past—and I
can't recall what the defaults are.

So, I currently have:

Ogg FLAC
FLAC (R,F,I) flac/sox
Ogg FLAC (I. F) Native

Ogg Vorbis
AIFF (I,F) Disabled
FLAC (I,R,F) Disabled
MP3 (I.F) Disabled (greyed out)
Ogg Vorbis (I,F) Disabled
PCM (I,F) Disabled

Is that correct?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty and File Types

Not sure if Spotify is still a dirty word round these parts.

But anyway, can anyone advise on the correct, or at least best settings
in LMS's Advanced/File Types? I've always found these a bit baffling

Spotify is delivered to my Spotty plugin as 705kbps CBR Ogg Vorbis
according to Material Skin.

In LMS's File Types, I see entries for Ogg FLAC and Ogg Vorbis. What
needs to be set there? And anywhere else?

Thanks!
