Hi,
I've just installed SqueezeDisplay on my Amazon Fire TV stick and I have
two feature requests:
1. Add an option to automatically start "Squeeze Player" or "SB Player"
2. Add an option to disable last.fm images or only show them with a
minimum resolution. They look very ugly on my TV screen.
I have similar problems since the update. The app frequently crash and
if the composer-tag is available it shows me as the interpret.
So lastfm often can't find any other information. I have new installed
the app an the crashes are away, but the other problem still exists.

After updating to the new version, I face numerous problem. Nothing else
has changed in my setup:
1. Squeeze display will start and stay stuck in "connecting to touch"
2. Touching the blank album art area will load the cover art in LMS,
but no info like artist name, album title nor song title.

Ugh... they finally did it :-/. They un-documented the call about a year
ago, but I've still been using it as well. I guess I'll have to work on

Yes, it's caused by an API change on LastFM side:

For the past few days my install of Squeeze Display has not been able to
retrieve any images from Last.fm. Anyone else facing the same problem?

Erland, first read about this now. Really cool idea. This goes to show
how useful the flexible architecture from Slimdevices (not Logitech) has
still to give. Thank you!

I just installed "Squeeze Display" and this was one of the most
complicated software installation i ever did:
1) I bought a cheap chinese tablet pc (Odys Loox) and installed "Squeeze
Display" on it
3) I installed a DOS Emulator (based on DosBox) and on this a copy of my
all-time favourite peace

This is not activated as a default dock app? Or is it supposed to?

Hi,
Thanks a lot for this initiative. My #1 request would be to have a
screensaver displaying the lyrics of the current track. For that
purpose, it would be enough for me to read the LYRICS tag.

I've installed this on my Xoom WiFi (running ICS) and it won't find any
players. I suspect this is because I'm not using the default port (I'm
using 9000) and my server is password protected. I tried specifying the
server as "remote" and put the port at the end (peter:9001), but I still

Hi Erland, this sounds great, unfortunately the description says it will
only run on android 2.3.7 and up. This precludes anything I've got. Is
there anyway to get this to run on older versions? The most recent I
have is 2.2.
There are a number of inexpensive tablets that have older versions suc
I got this working on the Kindle Fire, had to wait for the USB cable to
arrive. Works great! Thanks Erland.

Thanks for sharing the priority list. Probably better to get my artist
tags consistently populated. This was a good way to raise the issue
for me. Always room for improvement in my tagging.

I've been using this for a while and really like the ability to easily
see what's playing and a variety of artwork. Much more stable in the
current version.
Would it be possible to have an option to select what tag you want to
use for picking the artwork?
For instance, I just added the latest
Great, would love something for dock mode for my tablet. Will install

Hmm... one more odd thing: when playing some online resource (internet
radio or music on demand service like MOG) when I start the app would
result in a constant radio tower icon. The metadata displayed is
correct though.

FWIW: I've been playing with the thought of doing this as a server side
plugin. I did it for a local station to start with.
But in my experience it's not easy to do right, and last

Your app just caused me to fix tags on about 90% of my Rolling Stones
tracks. I wasn't using the "The" prefix, causing last.fm to return about
four images only, three of which were of those large, red "fix your tags"
images :-).

Heh... this morning's program is full of those exceptions: third in a row.
This time the "the" case: "bianca story" returns nothing, is known as "the
bianca story" on last.fm.
I just checked the api: while getImages wouldn't return anything, the
getInfo query would return information for "th
Another featuring breaking the logic in the app: "K'naan feat. Nelly
Furtado". Radio stations are a hard nut to crack for this kind of app. Not
only do they not always tag correctly, but they play different stuff than
you'd have in your library you test with ;-).

I've now released a 1.1.0 version, should appear in a few hours or so,
the changes are:
- Ignore dummy images that tells you to clean tags.
- Automatically adding 9000 as port for remote server if port isn't
specified in field.
- Images are shuffled each time a new list of artist images is
retriev
Cool. Two comments:
- Any plans to add support for internet radio artwork?
- It might be interesting to combine this with some sort of screensaver
dock mode. In other words, I put my tablet on it's dock and instead of
switching to just a floating clock, it autodims but displays both a

First of all funny little app, but yet very functional if one want it
simple.
My request:
1: on picture area swipe forward = next track or backward = previous
track
2: swipe up/down = volume level adjust
Best regards

You need to enter address:port, eg. "192.168.1.1:9000"

Hey, we've warned you! Here are my requests ;-)
- use images by recency, showing latest uploades first
- grab all/more images from last.fm. It seems to start all over too
soon for eg. Sting
- show the album art every now and then
