I see why the check boxes don't change under Connection ...
so I keep the check boxes set to the one way I want to work, and choose
under schedulings and locations the other way I want to work;
now I can switch easily between them.

Yes but you have to pay for the privilege. Pay Yahoo, that is. It isn't

I am new to the list just having joined for this purpose. I do have
this problem and and my system is otherwise fine. After installing
10.4, and had a unexpected quit in powermail 5.1. So I downloaded 5.2b4
to see if that would solve the problem. But it doesn't launch under any
