Hiro, PM is using the most convenient encoding. So if the sender used UTF-8 and the message contains characters which can be displayed only using Unicode, PM will use Unicode in your reply. If you send a message using only ascii characters, PM will use the smallest possible encoding for that. You

Ur, How do you set encoding of the outgoing message? I need to use UTF-8 characters. Mail > Encoding is grayed out. I set default to UTF-8 in the PM Pref, but it was sent as ISO-8859-1 instead. Actually, the pref window sez (Whenever possible, PM will use US-ASCII). How do you defeat this? -
