calibration question
Oconee - MNT I performs calibrations and are trained custodians of sources
with activities less than a radiation area otherwise RP provides radiological
coverage.

At Fermi 2, the RP Dept has a separate group of instrument personnel that are
fully qualified RP techs. This affords them the ability to handle sources,
post areas, etc. as necessary. They are responsible for both tech spec and non
tech spec rad monitor calibrations (GE, Gulf Atomic)
1. I
2. Yes to both. I/C technicians are trained and qualified to check out and
use calibration sources. RP escorts and controls access to areas where the
higher range sources are used i.e., area monitors.

At North Anna, I performs calibrations of permanently installed plant
radiation monitoring systems. RP does escort sources for their use if
necessary (>5 mrem/hr @ 30 cm).
