At Fermi 2, the RP Dept has a separate group of instrument personnel that are fully qualified RP techs. This affords them the ability to handle sources, post areas, etc. as necessary. They are responsible for both tech spec and non tech spec rad monitor calibrations (GE, Gulf Atomic) throughout the plant while also performing functional tests on a handful of them. These include liquid and gas effluent and area radiation monitors.

I would appreciate your response to the two questions below: 1. Who performs the detector calibrations on your installed radiation monitoring system... RP/HP techs, MTI/I&C techs, others? 1. If RP/HP DOES NOT perform your installed RMS detector calibrations, is the department performing the calibrations trained/qualified to handle sources (or does RP escort/handle the sources for them)?
