There are myriad different compression options for PDFs, though I do not
know how to make these choices in CutePDF. I could give you an hour or so
in Acrobat Pro, though. ;-}

It misses the start menu but there is a classic menu about that works other
than it blocks access to a point to the new start button. Also the gadget's

Yeah, XPS never took off, shame because the Adobe Reader is getting

There's a hack for XP mode on Win8 (and lowly Win 7 versions). If you
download XP Mode from ms (or elsewhere) 7-Zip will unpack it and you can
load it in VirtualBox (also maybe hypervisor). Forget all the details
but Google knows them g.

That was all that was holding me back from my other laptop. As I have some
XP users out there I like to check things out sometimes.
It is a pity M$ didn't keep the start menu in desktop though. Probably
better built in.

While trying to help someone get around the Outlook size limit we have
in place, I got the bright idea to chuck up the really big
native fonts, i.e., Time Roman, Arial, to keep PDF files small.
If you use a font, Matt's Grunge then that binary data has to be
embedded in every PDF that uses the font, even if only one character
uses that typeface.

Interestingly, XPS is an ECMA Standard (OpenXPS) and is the basis for the
print format in post-Vista Windows print
