You guessed right, Mike! When you de-crapify Win 8, there's nothing left

the Metro/Modern window, and all you have to do is to add a Start Menu
and fix it so it boots directly into the Desktop. Oh, wait, how

increasingly annoying and sneakily installing shite that nobody wants.

There's a hack for XP mode on Win8 (and lowly Win 7 versions). If you
download XP Mode from ms (or elsewhere) 7-Zip will unpack it and you can
load it in VirtualBox (also maybe hypervisor). Forget all the details
but Google knows them g.
