If I were going to learn a language to speak and read I would not learn Latin

I think learning to program is like learning to drive. You learn the basics on
a specific vehicle then learn to transfer those skills to another vehicle but
the basics of starting, stopping and steering are the same.

I would start with Python also, or maybe Swift if you want to do a 'bracketed'
language. Don't go bloody near
... Oh and I forgot, there's reputedly a great user base full of older wiser
folks out there who love to help with their years of experience. I just
can't remember how to find them though...
