Ian,
Effectively, this kind of PCB are only used with
stable mechanical support (generally machined RF enclosures).
The optional breakable part of the PCB is considered like
a totally independent print with it's own mechanical fixation;
holes have sufficient tolerances in diameter to avoid

Ian,
is it Protel99SE ? Yes

I have renamed it mq1 - same result when trying to simulate. However, a

Ian,
we often use parts out of the standard Simulation Models.ddb library which
is located in the default 'Model_Path' (\Design Explorer 99
SE\Library\Sim\). The IRF840 in the schematic library Sim.ddb references
its model there in the 'read-only field 3':

I don't know for sure how the license manager works, but I think it probably
uses a UDP broadcast over the LAN to discover other copies of the program.
If this is the case, it might be possible to block some UDP ports on your PC
with firewall software. Norton Personal Firewall, perhaps? Each

Since you didn't include a sample of the file, I have to guess.
I'm taking a guess that it is an RS-274X file, the old Gerber
format was RS-274D. If it is somewhat human readable,

Terry,
have you tried reading it in as RS274X format or drill? My thought
was that it was .GB(Gerber)X(RS274X) possibly by the extension. Or, thinking
further, is it actually excellon format drill and should be read in as drill
info? Maybe the GBX extension is just a little misleading.
Network sniffer shows it as multiple local network UDP transmits and
receives -- all on port 138.

Blocking incoming and outgoing UDP messages on port 138 dose not work.
Unless I've stuffed up the security policy filter.
