Re: [PEDA] DXP switch

2003-07-29 Thread Natalie DeGennaro
Tim,

I am running on an XP machine, with both 99SE and DXP. I have had no
problems except that our email software (Lotus Notes) requires us to login
to Thin Client on a Citrix Neighborhood platform. I usually keep my email
up and running all day. Our OS for the Citrix just changed from win98 to
Win2000 Server. As soon as that happened, I have all kinds of irritating
problems with 99SE but not DXP. 99SE can't find board files, but when I do
a search for them, they are there. I will be working along in 99SE and all
of a sudden it gets lost and I have to wait to get my control back until
its found again. Its VERY annoying! As soon as all our Engineers are
upgraded to DXP, then I can dump 99SE. Altium won't support this issue and
we didn't pay for support anyway, so I'm SOL until the switch. I can still
design boards in 99SE and send them out for fab, its just not much fun to
do so. I suspect that the problem has something to do with Win2000 Server
software and my local XP (our Protel licenses are floating on the network
- I think).

Anyway, good luck with yours!

Natalie DeGennaro

Well, I've been informed that I'm going to be switching to DXP. Does
anybody
have any words of wisdom to make this switch a little easier?

Are there any issues with loading DXP onto the same machine with 99SE?

Re: [PEDA] Title block

2003-07-02 Thread Natalie DeGennaro
Aurelie,

I created a titleblock with company logo, in another program and then I
read it into Protel with a DXF file. It works pretty good.

Re: [PEDA] SV: Template for the PCIX standard

2003-06-30 Thread Natalie DeGennaro
Peder,

You can get them at :

http://www.pcisig.com

The only problem is, is that you have to be a member to get the info. Not
quite sure what you have to do to be a member though.

No, the formfactor IS different.

Maybe you know where to find such information

 Hi

Anyone who has a template for the PCI X bus or know where to find it.

Peder

I might be wrong but I thought PCI-X boards had same form factor as PCI
ones but with some special considerations to some pins (38b I think) and
also some timing/voltage signalling issues which are slightly different
from PCI22. Was PCI-X not just an amendment to PCI2.2

Re: [PEDA] PCB in Protel

2003-06-23 Thread Natalie DeGennaro
Raoul,

I'm not sure about Protel, but I know most PCB Design software uses either
mils (0.00?) or millimeters for their design units. I don't know of any
that use centimeters as their design database units.

Do the conversion math and see if that is your problem.

Hi,

I have a problem with PCB making in Protel DXP. The final printout appears
to be for about 40% bigger. For example, I wish my PCB to have the
following dimensions; width: 7cm height: 3cm but when I print it out it
becomes width: 10cm and height: 6cm how come? Where is the problem?
