Guess - I'm in a phase of, not complaining but improving mode, today.
Hi everyone.
before I actually go any step further I should clarify that I've got
nothing in comon with the schematic-capture side of things.
All my pcb designs come as third-party schem. and netlists.
Inhouse tools will double-check the netlist for any unwanted errors - kind
of a "Must" - to many anwanted things happen.
Anyway -
I appriciate each schem-designer for his patients of addressing all the
induviduals components with a designator in sequence.
However - this will most likely change after the pcb is final and ready for
manufacture.
Most Design-owners, companies rahter got the pcb sequencially numbered and
not the schematic.
That brings me exactly to the spot I want to pin-point.
The renumberer within the pcb-enviroment does some strange things to my
components.
It's mainly on passive components where it plays kind'o crazy.
For instance - A 32 channel analog card - after renumbering - the reading is:
R1 R2 R3 R6 R4 R5, etc.etc.
Same applies for other, multiple placed components, like caps, or transistors.
I've verifield the insertion point of the comp. to be, the one and the same
X or Y coord. - I've checked the placements of each indiv. coord. of the
designators - well it beats me - I can't explain why the renumberer does
such silly renumbering.
-------------------------------
Protel-Software Team -
what's your answer to this uncontrolable, unpredictable renumberer - to
some companies just a cosmetic, to others a rather relevant hick-up, worth
mentioning.
Cheers
