Re: [PEDA] Camtastic2000 layers
Brad, Just getting the gerber files together for the photo plots. We used to use P-cad Ass. Designers Edition V2.0. The pad master files were never generated in P-cad and I was just wondering if I could merge them or just delete the pad master gerbers. Sounds like I will just delete them. I've kinda been learning this on the fly and doing things the way I was told. Now that we have Protel and I have some breathing room I'm trying to find out why I'm doing things (should have done it a long time ago) Thanks very much for your quick reply, this post will probably get lots more simple or rediqueles posts from me but... Re: [PEDA] Camtastic2000 layers
Jerry, what are you trying to generate? A padmaster which contains all vias as well? For what purpose? Padmasters are mostly a hold out from days gone by when hand taping methodologies dictated a single padmaster for all pads of both layers. If you still want to merge the soldermask and padmaster layers, watch out for soldermask expansion within Protel. Check your PCB design rules to see if there is any specified soldermask expansion rule, this will make the soldermask flashes larger then the actual pads by the amount specified in the rule. Therefore you will end up with slightly larger pads then desired on your merged padmaster. Sincerely, Brad Velander. Lead PCB Designer Norsat International Inc. [PEDA] Camtastic2000 layers
Hi, Can anyone tell me (I'm sure they can) why the pad master layers don't include the via holes? The solder mask layers do show all holes and vias. Can I just merge the pad master and soldermask layers? The via hole size is 28 mil with a pad size of 50mil.
